Default Some good news and some bad news

Well the good news it that I made it into the 12s last night. Ran a 12.99 at 98.17 mph with a 1.95 sixty foot but I did a 2 to 3 shift which is why I only trapped 98 mph. The bad news is that I think I bent some pushrods. Car runs really rough and sounds like it has a really bad exhaust leak. I also managed a 13.14 at 108.73 with a 2.045 sixty foot.

Yep. Been there, done that. Twice in the Trans Am. Changed out the springs and put in some hardened rods along with a cam, no more problems.

**** ME SIDEWAYS!!! I just did a compression test and zero compression on number eight. So I tried another one to see if I was doing it wrong and it was 150 and still going up when I quit cranking it over. So it looks like I am going to be pulling the heads soon.

Sounds like a bent valve....

if you had a Z, I have a single 243 head with a few miles on it that you could just slap back on..

Yeah thats what I'm thinking. Just ordered a cam and lifters. Going with a 224/230 .609/.612 111+1. Just can't decide between TSP 5.3 heads or their stage 2.5 LS6 heads.

Thanks for the offer but I think both heads have some bent valves. Back two primarys on both sides stay cool after I run the motor for a bit.

Which ever ones I go with I'm gonna have milled to a 62cc combustion chamber for 11.0-1 compression. TSP said they are gonna have a special on the stage 2.5 LS6 heads for the same price as the stage 2.5 5.3 heads. So now its even harder for me to decide lol.

Bingo. I did the 3-2 a couple of months ago and ended up bending 11 valves, good luck with the head swap.
