What would it take to get a LS7 Z06 motor to 600 whp on motor?
#23
Its not the HP, it should be your tire set up. I have a C6 making 505/441 all motor and im running a 100 shot on top of it. My C6 only drives on DR. The car will not hook up for **** at 505, at 600, im almost hitting walls. The only thing i could do is drive around with ET streets. The car hooks now, but my car is a straight line car. I cant go to autocross, unless i change the tire set up...

Yes, you can do it as others have said. Just be sure to research reliability factors. Calling Jason at Katech would be my recommendation. Oiling system, rocker arms, valve springs and pistons could be weak areas depending on how you drive the car. If you are road racing, you will definitely want to upgrade the oiling system.
Side note, I am close to 500whp with nothing but longtubes (catted X pipe), Vararam intake, 160 deg t-stat and tuning. Cam only could put me close to 550whp if I wanted to be aggressive, but I don't want to sacrifice stock mannerisms, so I will go with a mild cam for about 530whp. And I will most certainly upgrade the dry sump (pan baffles and tank) before I road race it. When I go cam, I'll also add an LS9X clutch from Katech as well as the dry sump upgrades.

My next mod is going to be oil related. Direct me old wise one...

580-585 is pretty easy. ive seen tons of people do it.
hitting 600 might require some good luck but it's possible... i have yet to see consistent 600s from any tuner using the ls7 heads and a street car combo
i hit 604 with a light clutch on a 70 degree day....then it made 587 with a heavier clutch on a 104 degree day

A happy dyno can help you hit 600 rwhp too. Take it to the track and post a TRAP speed and based on gearing / setup we can decide for ourselves whether the numbers are legit or not.
I know I've said track numbers don't tell the entire story, so thats why I am saying trap speed relative to both your RWHP claim and setup (gears, a4/m6 etc)

in all fairness, the amount of bull **** threads you have to wade through on this site to actually get partial information on what your researching is crazy, nothing like spending 30 minuets searching around crap posts for the knowlage you seek.
back on topic, just boost that bitch!!

But then again you can make a dyno show what ever number you want if you assist it......600NA true rwhp is not an easy receipt.

Talk to Ryne @ CMS (Cunningham Motorsports). Ryne drives a 587rwhp C6Zo6 daily, the car traps 136 and very streetable. Its has your basic ls7 H/C, with a ported stock intake. As far as reliability...He constantly rails the **** out of that car and still has yet to see any problems.

Slightly pull is morel like it, and the N/A motor is maxxed out unless nitrous is added. The SC car is 600rwhp with a big pulley and easily 650-680-700-750whp etc etc etc.
They have had a handful of SC cars hit 137mph-142mph with stock blocks no N/A car has hit that except 1 in perfect air at a perfect track.
With that said I'll end up going NA because Z06 engines are freaking expensive as hell and 550whp is enough. If I wanted a 700whp street killer I should have kept my EVO and saved 40K.
