C7 Vette to get all new small-block!?

But I did read it and it is supposed to be capable of 700 hp in stock configuration. The engine is the engine being used right now in the Le Mans series Corvette which came down from a 7L to a 5.5L and still has the same amount of HP and TQ across the band with the smaller cubes.
As far as the new small block, time will tell what it is. Personally I am betting it is being based off the Nascar V8 GM recently developed. If they hadn't stated the project cost, I would have just thought it was an LSx motor with a revised head and DI. It's not like the General to scrap a motor as young as the LSx series, but it looks like they may do just that.

anyway....That would be sweet to find one of these test beds with the engine and check it out. Do you guys think they will keep the same LSx style intake manifold or go with something else since everyone and their momma has problems with lean #7 & 8 cylinders on high HP apps???
