Default quick question about 1/4 mile times for stock C5 Auto vette's

i was just wondering if anybody hit 12's with their stock automatic C5 vette. i figure the 01+ models probably could. im seriously thinking about buying one in the next few months. i have my eye on a 2001 C5 with an auto trans. first wallet mods would be drag radials and a nice 3000-3200rpm converter. vararam and exhaust would follow after

Yes you will hit 12's should not be a problem at all. And the first mods I would do is a Stall and gears and a good set of tires this will knock a good amount of time off. Then a Intake and LTH go 1 7/8. After that the rest is on you and what you want.

Thumbs up

I've heard of a couple of 12.9s and even a 12.8 from bone stock C5 LS1 automatics.
Quite a few of the manual C5 LS1s have hit 12s (12.6s/12.7s) in stock trim as well.

That must be a hell of a track/weather to run 12s in a stock auto. When I ran my stock car it was a super turd that would literally crawl off the line. If someone could somehow get a sub 2.0 60' with a stock auto with a good DA it's possible but don't bet on it. Hoping my FTI 3600 stall fixes that

Back when I had a stock tune, converter, callaway honker, headers w/cats, borla stingers and otherwise stock and full weight I clicked a 12.7 @ 110 and it was not great weather. It probably had a hell of a lot more to offer with gears and some tuning.

sweet! thanks fellas! I live in southern new jersey. I go to Atco Raceway, 33' above sea level. in the fall and winter months, -1000-1800' DA isn't uncommon My buddies call that kind of DA nitrous air.

whats a good gear for a automatic C5? its not going to be a daily driver but i do have to drive about an hour to get to Atco lol. 3.73s?
