Corvette programmer question?
My dad has a 2001 C5 corvette. Its not the z06. He has a BBK 80mm intake and 80mm throttle body and Corsa exhaust. He wants a power programmer were he can change the timing and tune a little bit when he goes to the track and change it when he drives it back home. Does anybody have any suggestions on which one he needs. Thanks.

I dont have any experience with using any of them but your dad would be better off find a good shop in your area and have the car tuned. Let someone who really knows what they are doing and does it all the time.

I think he is just looking for something else he can play with on the car. They take it on cruises alot and dont want it to wild so it kills the gas mileage on trips.

The hand-held tuners are quite limited in capability. But they might be able to satisfy his need to tweak. I use HP Tuners to really get into the ECM and change things. As Siver408Z pointed out, you can actually increase fuel economy by improving airflow (cold air intake, headers, better intake manifold, etc) and by adding a custom tune to take advantage of the better airflow.
