C5 vettes runing 9's hey folks, i thought i'd bring this here. i'm an fbody guy and i don't keep up on what's going on with vettes. i'm on a board called anti-rice.com there are some good folks over there and like every board there are some asswipes and many uninformed people. there is a recent post about "the first n/a 9 sec C5 vette" seems to me that there must have been more than one and that this didn't just happen recently. if someone could shed some light on this it would be cool. it was basically started with a video of a vette running. here's a link to the thread. http://anti-rice.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1823 i'm not posting this to start any kind of flaming or bullshit, just so people that know can inform those of us who don't. |
They are correct, that is the first. It only happened recently, previous cars a all had power-adders. |
cool, thanks for the info. that's surprising to me. |
There are some faster C5s but like 66 said, they were all running power adders. I think Lingenfelters TT 427 was the fastest (still might be, altho they detuned it) with quite a few others one being Paul Major off our board running low 9s. Not to say that those are the two fastest, those are just two i can think of @ the moment. |
http://www.challengevideos.com/JohnGormans427CI-C5R.wmv the one we back havled is in the 9's , but its not your average c5 :guns: :D jay nrc motorsports |
thats like the second pass on the car in that video, it just got aligned yesterday and i think the vette doctors added some other electronics to the car for when they go to the vette/ viper shoot out.. should run low 9's on motor..then they'll juice it. jay |
