Default C5 Z06 and ET streets... what could happen?

I just bought a 2004 Z06. Car has 44k on it and runs great, clutch feels strong with no weird noises of any kind. If I take this thing to the track with a set of bias ply et streets and really launch this thing (5k clutch dumps) am I asking for trouble or technically speaking it should handle it assuming no wheel hop?

Stock clutch?

Probably that.(the clutch).

Wheel hop?

Diff/trans output shaft, probable.

Could it work and not break, sure.

Lots of variables on how to make THAT work, and not break.

In my opinion,...

Solid mounts(VBandP or Hinson, or PFADT), the pfadt wide diff mount(the one with outriggers for a C5 to give it better bracing) a diff/trans brace.. also diff output shafts snap but I think if you do above, the rigidity of the flimsy C5 drivetrain, will help it out a lot.

You'll break the axles pretty quick. Id say a few hard launches on those and they are toast.

Wheel hop will break the axles so using ET streets over a DR like nittos is probably safer.

Bias ply's are supposed to help keep from breaking vs drag radials on standard transmissions vehicles. They help absorb the drivetrain shock

Whats the main cause of this wheel hop? Rubber bushings in the upper and lower control arms in the rear?

You won't have problems. Eventually a clutch. Maybe some synchros if you power shift. I used 26x11.5 et streets on my stock 01z and cut 1.7 60' I think and then I did 4.10's and cut 1.6x and ran 11.9@115 with CAI and cat back. Launched around 5k and finally after heads cam intake I cut 1.51 60 and then broke my diff after a 6k dump with 28" slicks
