It be pretty cool but take away from the tradition of a front mounted v8 engine that we all love. Plus no need to make it mid engine any ways when the Corvette (Sports Car) is hanging with or beating super cars around the turns. So no need to fix something that isn't broke

I m n t b h o...

Certainly a great improvement in my never to be humble opinion, the move will do away with a lot of handicap like the diff and torq tube in favor of a transaxle making the cat lighter and placing the weight where we want it, rite on top of the drive wheels.

As will too hand the anatomy of super car status which tough narrowly has always alluded the corvette.

why not a scene like this behind the driver...

I would love to see it. GM, and for that matter most car companies, get in to a rut of doing the same things over and over. It would generate a lot of interest I'm sure.

OVA1 Aug 16, 2014 08:26 PM

Please NO!

Build it sure... but don't put a Corvette Badge on it.

Silver408z Aug 17, 2014 10:20 PM

Blah blah blah. same rumor every few years.

Ever here "race on Sunday...sell on Monday.."

What do you think they have been doing with the Corvette Daytona Prototype?

GM races for development....I think they have learned a lot from that vehicle...it's only a matter of time before they build a street going version. I think it's awesome...just as long as the front engine Corvette is still available...which I believe it always will be.

Be glad...be very glad.

I would imagine it would be a twin turbo V8 though....otherwise...meh.

That definitely fixes the disproportional aspect of the C7. I'd buy it. To add more fuel to the fire, can mine be a hybrid with the babymax diesel though?

V-seriesTech Aug 19, 2014 10:34 AM

lol nice ^^

You may see a hybrid supervette in the near future.

CAMSTER Aug 26, 2014 02:09 AM

Hybrids may be viable power adder of the future, just think adding additional power just by messing with the e motors and lighter and better batteries.
I can see it coming 80 / 120 additional whp without losing gas mileage.

Electric p steering a/c compressor and no engine starter contributions by Hybrids we already enjoy.

Mid-engine Corvette, can we say Lambo Gallardo killer. TT that and go out and start hunting.

It's different, and I like it, but I'm not a Corvette purist.

They already made a Gallardo killer its the Zr1 and soon to be the C7 Z06

This is making Zora Duntov happy. His dream was to make the Corvette a mid engined race car. I think it would be awesome. Moving forward with progress is the only way to go. If the prices were to remain similar, Im all on board.

The Alchemist Aug 28, 2014 06:18 AM

Ok, TT Gallardo killer.

Not sure that I like that idea.. could be cool, though.

214Chevelle Sep 12, 2014 06:33 PM

I love the idea. Screw tradition!! To me, tradition has nothing to do with evolution and taking the car or the GM brand to a new level. But, hey...that's just me.

Abdullah Sep 20, 2014 11:33 PM

why they don't make it an AWD corvette for better traction and better handling?

I read in another article the price would in the area of $150k. While the ZR1 was expensive, it wasn't quite that expensive, even optioned up a bit. I would imagine if a mid-engine car started at $150k, it would find its way to $175k with options.
