Borla Race System for c5's
 

So I'm shortly getting an 02 Z06 and was looking at cat back exhaust systems. I know the slp loudmouth sounds really good and is just about as open as you can get. But I've had great experiences with borla as well and their RACE system incorporates theri XR-1 muffler which I've heard great things about. If anyone has any experience or sound clips with the borla race system on their c5 that would be awesome.

Check www.ls1sounds.com. I dont think they have a race Borla system, but they do have some LS1 XR-1 sounds, so it may give you some idea of the sound.

IMO I have had some bad luck with Borla and have just switched to the 2-Tip GHL Magnums and couldn't be happier! :drive:

I have had several borla systems and they have all worked very well!!! I am selling my borla XR1 system if you are interested?

I have the borla stinger exhaust system. It sounds wicked and I can tell you this. There is no muffler. More like a resonator..:)

Random Tech makes a race system that has no mufflers or resonators. its pipes thats it. ive driven a convertible with melrose headers, 3" random hi flow cats and their 3" race pipes. its not bad sounding it really isnt. kinda mono tone really. its not very loud just driving around. this was a convertible so i have no idea what it would be like in a closed cabin. its loud once you really start getting on it espacially the upper rpms

I picked up my XR-1's off ebay for $200. It is the best system I've ever had as far as sound goes. With a stock motor I sounded as good as my buddy with a 415 and Corsa's. When you nail it, it is sweet sweet music to your ears. PLus I picked up a good kick in the ass feel.
