60' on Nitto's

It can be done. 2002 C5,M6,stock 3.42 gears,SPEC 3I clutch,Nitto 305/35/18 on Z06 wheels,race weight 3550.
Here are my 60' for the day
1.75
1.73
1.69
1.66

Tires were at 20psi and launched at 4500rpm with a little clutch slip :) I see no reason to run ET streets now.I'm sure when I swap to a Z06 tranny 1.5's can be had.

w/500+ hp you should have some et streets cutting 1.4's

:stupid: Those are great 60' times on the Nittos, but I think you'd do even better with ET Streets. :joecool:

My clutch is at it's limits with the 3.42's.The best ET street 60' I've seen personally is 1.52,but it was a H/C Z06 with 4.11 gears.I just don't see any reason to haul ET's to the track and waste time switching them.Wed. I'll be at the track for a rental and we'll see if I can get the 60's lower :)

you can't just drive it to the track w/e.t. streets on,do your thing & drive it home?i thought e.t. sts. were d.o.t. tires.

Well, they are D.O.T. tires and you could drive them to the track, but 1. you'll wear them out very quickly doing that unless your local drag strip happens to be right around the corner from you and 2. God forbid you get caught in an unexpected shower with them on the back of your car 'cause it ain't gonna be pretty. :D

yeah but it'd make for some cool drifting vids, XT lol.

And my buddy is pickin up a set of Nitto's for his Lightning for cheap as all hell. He's hopin to get it back out the the track again and see what he can do.

Slowhawk Oct 20, 2004 05:42 AM

Well,I'm off to the track today to see if the car will hold together.Going to try like hell for a 1.5? 60'. Perfect weather with a high of 50 degree's

i have not tried my 305's on the track but once and the clutch went out.... Long story and still dealing with SPEC.. but the 17" et's gave me 1.66 short times pretty consistently on the track which blew me into the 10sec barrier with a .75.. either way i don't mind a few tire changes since the DR's are all i can run on the street.. why chew them up on the track when i can run the ET's... then they last longer..

The Nittos are great as they can be used on the street and the track. I have the 285/35/18's and have been very happy with them.
