04 vette vs. 02 z28 Just wanted to ask you vette owners (im jealous, really) how close would it be if I raced my buddies c5 (stock) vs my 02 Z28 w/ k$n fipk and cutouts. we never get a chance to race in san diego its a little too busy to just get out on the street and go, so we are gonna race in an 1/8 mi on sep 30 at Qualcomm Stadium. I figure he will beat me but I hope it will be closer than everyone says. Oh yeah, his is an a4 and mine is an m6. Any feedback would be cool thanx.

Depends on the whole shot, he will likely hook before you and in the 1/8 the LS1 takes a bit before it starts to push. If he has a 2.73 gear you got him no porb. It will be down to the driver more then the cars. His race weight will make up for your M6 and cutouts. Have fun let us know how it turns out.

looks like now i will only have the fipk and not the cutouts but nonetheless I cant wait to see it pan out. Thanks for the input guys, I will let you know who wins. (pull for the little guy!)

In my opinion, you'll have a better chance from a dig, in the 8th mile, as long as your a good, no make that, great driver. Hopefully for your sake, he isn't. 3rd and fourth gear is the gear you need to watch out for on the vettes,...as they pull hard. Get yourself some tires and launch that thing. If you get him bad enough out of the hole, maybe he'll mind F*** himself....

the z28 has two obvious advantages one that its an m6 and another that it has some minor mods, but just be careful cause with just an intake i traped at 108 in 90 degree heat. o and drive the **** out of ur car.
