Default Anyone driven a 2006 auto?

I am tossing around buying an 06 paddle shift auto car. I had an 05 six speed and it was a cool car. Sold it before I took a hit on it, but I am ready to jump back in the game. I just figured an auto car with a 150 shot would be pretty quick if I needed to get some street action. Other than that put some nice wheels on it and let it roll.

It is not a sequintial transmission..it is an automatic with a novel shifting mode..If you are real serious about drag racing go to a built turbo 400 with a monster stall..the 06 automatic is probably very close in perfromance compared to the 4 speed auto in the 97-05 Vette. I am sure that someone will do a comparision test soon in a magazine article. It didn't do much for me..I still like shifting gears with the manual 6 speed tranmission..

The 06 has a A6 not an A4 as well so the ratio's between the two are not far off. I drove a 2006 with a A6 (all auto C6's in 06 have this as well if I am not mistaken) and loved the way it drove. best to drive them back to back to decide. The didn't have one in a color i liked or i would have gotten it. I got a Velocity Yellow M6 C6

Check out the latest issue of CAR AND DRIVER. They mentioned that the 6 speed improved performance by a tenth in 1/4 and 1 mph. Hope this helps!

I consider those paddle-shifter A6s as a tranny for people who want a very fun driving car who don't intend to mod or race the car. T-56'd cars are for performance.

How quick are the shifts? Can you stay in the powerband?
