I would have said, alittle old to have no social skills aren't we? I would pay no attention to him. I would have loved a Vette at 21, seeing I knew at eight years old I wanted one someday. Vette #3 here.

How is insurance for you 20 somethings?

I'm 26 with a good record and no accidents and am seriously considering a C5. But I'm afraid to call up my insurance company and ask them what it'll cost for full coverage on a $20k+ sports car.

should of made a poll, either way i'm 20. have a 02 Z06
had to beat the system so i can afford this car, its a "company car" so my insurance is only $100/mth and had to get rid 2 of my other cars. not a bad sacrifice

seriously what do all you teenagers do for jobs to get all this money for a vette?whatever it is i need to get in on it. I have worked all year round since 7th grade and i had barely enough money for my 1999 Firebird V6, i cant imagine how one could afford a vette let alone a newer z06, unless mommy and daddy helped..

I'm 26, and just bought my 2000 C5 Coupe. Insurance is under $200/mo for full coverage on the Vette and another car.

There's no credit when your young, lol. Not many good jobs at 18 either.

And you can live at home.

I have two children. I would of had one years ago, but impractical for me right now. Of course, I could use it for a weekend warrior.

I got a 22 year old brother. He has a good job and he's going to buy a viper or the new vette. I talked him out of it. Told him to buy a house first. He's listening to me. I told him trust me on this one, plenty of time for a viper/vette later on.

I didn't have a vette when I was a teenager, but I did have a $20k car that I bought new. I had good credit, zero percent financing, and I worked A LOT. Looking back I kind of wish I would have spent more time doing social high school/college things, but to me having a nice car to work on was more important.

Insurance is a killer though 19 year old male with 11 points on my license. paying 375 a month for both cars oh well expensive hobby and i love it... good thing i got a new job lol.

I pay 175$ a month for a insurance. Clean driving record, 4.0 in college, and some other discount as well.

thats really! good advise, a car a really bad "investment"
only if young people where smarter. houses are only going to get more expensive, its a sacrifice but it worth it in the end.

Your over 25, so that will help you with the insurance. If Marion is a small town, then I can't see the insurance being too bad. I'm a "Step 9" in Massachusetts, this is the best driving record there is. I pay slightly over $1000.00/year to insure my Z06. Pretty cheap for sure. Hopefully Iowa doesn't have outragous insurance rates, so I would say go for it, if they don't.

I'm 34 and as of April this year I have a 99 TR M6, my first vette.

I'm one of those cops that ask about driving daddy's vette, but really only because it gets such a rise out of the yougins. I think its great if your parents buy you a nice car or great car, as long as you appreciate it and treat it and your parents great. I can't say to much anyway my wife bought me mine.

For the youngins that pay for their vettes, more power to you I think it is great.
