Appreciate the kind words. It was my dream car growing up and while I was looking to trade my truck on a C6ZR1, I randomly came across this one - the only one in Western Canada. I made a much better deal on the Grand Sport than I could on the ZR1, and now have this Mongoose Chassis #007 Grand Sport.
I really like the 502 BBC, the torque is instant and the sound is unreal. My ultimate dream is a 4xx CI Aluminum LS build, high-end valvetrain, and ITB setup with a 6 speed, somewhere around 750 flywheel HP and 7500rpms.
Anyway, the paint scheme is a replica of the original Chassis #3 (I know the car has Number 2 on it, not sure why Mechom racing did that, but probably cause they didn't care what chassis number the cars were at the time), from it's entry into the 1964 12hrs of Sebring.
BTW, love the 80's Monte's especially with your swap!
