For now try flushing out the system, being careful not to get any air in the system, it still could be a bad slave or pressure plate..... I would use a textralia

Yeah I had the same problem, I tried flushing it, I tried a total fluid change to Super Blue and then I gave up and tried a new Textralia clutch and she's all good now.

After seeing the stock pressure plate I see why it happens now because of the way the fingers are made compared to an aftermarket one, it had grooved the throwout bearing to the point that it was allowing the fingers to extend to far and make it stick backward.
This is just my theory but I feel 100% this is it.

Had the same problem on my formula when it has a m6. Turned out to be a bad master cyl.

Mine was doing the same thing, so I went with a Cartek clutch and adjustable master...clutch was great, but support after the sale sucked!!! After numerous emails, they have yet to resolve anything.

I'd suggest starting with the cheapest possible solution.

With that in mind, here are three clutch fluid issue threads to review:

Clutch Pedal Woes--Fluid Impact

C6Z06 Clutch Hydraulic Fluid--the Chevy Spec

Clutch Pedal Woes--Fluid Changing Kit

If it doesn't help solve your pedal problem, then a new clutch and hydraulics is in order.

Can't speak for a turkey baster. Those using a syringe have not reported any issue with "air in the system."

Do you have a theory on how the process introduced the air?

I put 350 passes and 30K street miles on a 2002 Z06 without pedal issues by keeping the fluid pristine.

TIA,

Ranger

Dude.... I have no freaking clue.... And I just said turkey baster cause that is the mor used term.... I used a syringe too.... And it lasted a good 6 times before I got air in there.... I am car less and clutchless right now.... Oh well, it was coming sooner or later... I never even let the damn thing get all of the way emptied with the syringe, to prevent the air from getting in, I have no idea at all, it turns out that that was only the begining of my porblems, as I am now waiting on new clutch because my pressure plate is f_ked, It did have *** load of air in there though.

Sorry to read of your troubles, jbusmc1986.

I've been following the syringe method of keeping my clutch fluid pristine on three Z06 and advising others to do the same since 2001. Yours is the first report I've seen of air getting into the clutch hydraulics via fluid changes. Difficult for that to occur in a gravity feed supply.

Anyway, good luck with the new clutch; hopefully it won't be LUK-made. They seem to have a near exclusive claim on pedal woes.

My car does the same thing. After a second or two the peddle come back up. I was told that it was the hydraulics.

Ranger is definitely an expert on the clutch stuff. I just started using his procedures after I had some pedal issues. I was surprised to see the fluided needed to be changed after a month of driving my car.

Wow, you are another person that has complained about their customer service...I don't think I will be doing any business with them.
