I'm aware of possible oil consumption issues, but what else may hold you back???? It seems with some small valve train tweaks I could get over that small 385 to 400 hp rating issue??

for me it would depend on how much cheaper they are than the 02's.
1K cheaper?.... ill get the 02.
but 2-4K cheaper...... i think ill take an 01.
i dont have the list of changes.... but there were quite a few....
lighter wheels, better cooling, more HP, HUD, etc.
so what car are you looking at?

Do you have any pics of your car. I'm interested in seeing your wheels. Sounds like you have a sweet ride by reading your sig.

I bought my 01 last year and it was fine with the oil consumption until I modified it extensively. I think now I have done a little to much and it uses a littler more oil than I like. Considering it was the only year to get speedway white I would do it again. Now I have a reason to forge the bottom end and make it even more powerful!!

...of course the same applies to me.
I would have no problem buying an '01. Most of the time they are better deals than the '02-04. Power difference is just a cam swap difference, no biggie.
