Can I get 12's out of this?

I've got a 2001 white A4 Coupe with the 3.15 gears. It's got the 17/18 combo chrome y2k's that I'm guessing came stock with the C5's in that year. One of the reasons I bought the vette was to get away from heavily modifying my last car to get into the 12's, but I'm considering a couple minor bolt-ons. I have a warranty, so I want to make sure my mods are easily removable and appear as stock as possible.

Is it possible to break 12's in the 1/4 on street tires (with these heavy rims) on a 3.15 A4 with a Vararam and a Z06 TI exhaust? (or some other aftermarket catback)? And how are the canned tunes for these cars (although I'll be looking @ an HP Tuners in a year or so).

And what are the popular Corvette performance websites to visit and look @ modification options?

Thanks,
Tim

I don't have an auto, but I have the older 345hp LS1 and hit 12.7 with a stock filter, LG Pros, Corsa pace car exhaust, no tune, and 295's. Stock I ran 13.3 all day long.

Im sure with a nice stall and some intake and exhaust work it is very possible. Just put some drag radials on it and you really will get it. If you have the stock Goodyear EMT's on there get rid of them in my opinion those are some of the worst performing tires I've had though it was nice not having to worry about flats but they are really hard and not forgiving when it comes to grabbing traction. Its all about the traction!

Yea, I guess I'll just have to take her to the track and see how much work I'll have to do.. hope I won't regret not buying a z06, or this car will be gone in a year or two ;-)

If you planning on modding whatsoever in the future you don't need a Z06 because all the things that make a Z06 what it is would come off anyway so don't bump your head so much for not getting one. Besides the coupe looks better!

Most definitely! My car has run a best of 12.81 at 109.4 (in cool fall air), with just a Vararam and dyno tuning. It's also a 3.15 A4, and I am running Pirelli P Zero Nero all season tires. Also keep in mind that your 2001 has the LS6 intake so you've already got a horsepower advantage over my 98 right there.

Nice stock run patman. Can't wait to take mine to the track next month. Unfortunetly we have to drive to Bahrain to race no more strip in Kuwait.

My fastest time in mine ('99 FRC) is 12.6 @ 111 mph with LT headers, X pipe, Borla XR1 catback and an Blackwing Filter. My 1st and 2nd was almost useless because the stock hydraulics didnt like the 3000 rpm launch on stock Eagle F1s. I think I can pull a low 12 out of this setup with a new clutch.

100 shot of spray and good tune you will be a 12 monster. Cheaps mod a good NOS kit around $600 and a good tune around $300 to $400.

Yes you can definitely see some high 12s out of that car at the right track in good air, stock '2.73 geared' C5 autos (though not too many) have even done it.
