Default Rear Tires Won't Fit????

The Car is a 2001 Z06 corvette I just got some new 18X10.5 & 18X9.5 Z06 Chrome Rims from TomzWheelz the 18x10.5 offset is 58mm and the 18X9.5 offset is 57mm. I went with some 315/30/18 BFG Drag Radial in the rear which fit on the rim fine. The problem im having is when I put the tires on in the rear its rubbing up against the Air Duct. Is there away to take the air ducts out if there is can someone send me some info on this???? The other problem that looks like it might be a problem when lowering the car the top of the wheel base looks like it could be rubbing???? Will 275/35/18's fit in the front with out any problems????? If needed to go with a Spacer how much do u think I will need and which spacer is best to go with??????? If im pushing too much horse too the Rear Wheels will the studs break?

Are those tires about .7 inches shorter than the stock 295/35's?

You may have to remove the rear brake ducts. Easy to do. They are only held in with a few screws. Removing them is standard practice for big tire packages. If the tire is rubbing at the top inside wheel well. Then you either need to run a spacer or mini-tub the car. The spacer width will depend on the amount of rub, but I would not go over a 1/4" thk spacer.

I'm running CCW 18x10.5 W 295x18s in the front and 18x11.5 W335x18s in the rear (Mich. Pilot sports) and my car is lowered 1" all around. It's an '02 vett. The rears rub the top inner fender liner when going over a drive way or curb. No one does that at speed anyway. You will have to remove the rear inner brake ducts in order for your set to work. If I'm not mistaken there is only one or two screws holding them on any way. You can get to them through the inner wheel well liner, just un-bolt, remove ,replace, enjoy .

make sure you jack the back suspension up a little bit, if your half shaft angle is too steep (too low or too high) at the drag strip it will have alot of wheel hop, just like setting a driveshaft pinion angle, the half shafts need to have the correct angle also....

Thanks guys for the info. I did remove the Air ducts and now the tires fit which makes me happy because now i don't have to use a spacer. I just order 275/35/18 for the front I shouldn't have any problems with these fitting in the front correct???? With the 315/30/18 BF drag's what kind of 60 foot times do you think I will see at the track?????
Thanks Scott
