I'm in the 11's!!!!

 :drive:

Today I went to U.S.41 Dragway. The track prep was total crap, was spinning with et streets. However I was able to get 11.96@117mph with a 1.79 60'-with spinning out of the hole. Had a 12.07,12.3-spun first, second, a bit into third, a 12.55-spun out of the hole bad, and a 12.73-missed third :bang: Had a good time, nothing broke on the car, thank god lol. I may go back in a few weeks after some more rubber is laid down. Should be able to get deeper in the 11's with a better 60' time. I should be able to get 1.6 or so 60'. :drive:

Good time. I cant wait to get my new clutch in and the brace so I can mount the slicks. Have you upgraded the drivers side halfshaft or are you still on the stock one?

scramblerman Mar 11, 2007 05:54 PM

Still on the stock halfshafts and clutch. The car has only 7200 miles on it. Clutch held up just fine. I let it cool down about a half hour between runs. I didn't slip it at all, just dumping it. I was launching a few times at 3000 rpms then the best run I dumped at 3500rpms.
I've been looking at getting one of those DTE braces. I could of bought a used one from one guy but lost the link for it and couldn't find it. Oh well.

That's cool. The CF sig is killing me though. :judge:

Awesome runs Scramblerman! Just a question about a few mods in your sig, you have (CF intake tube, and Cartek line lock) as mods. What are these? Sorry if these are pitiful questions, but I'm still learning. :(

Doc here is a picture of the Carbon fiber intake tube. It replaces the stock intake tube/ air bridge. It is bigger and flows alot more. I will have to get a picture with the stock one next to the Carbon fiber one. A big differance!

The line lock locks up the front brakes so you can do a nice burnout without looking like a idiot and burning up your rear brakes at the track. It goes inline with your brake line that goes from the master cylinder to your EBCM/proportioning valve. You press the brake pedal down hard and then you press a button to activate the system. That locks the front brakes. So you let off the brakes and you can proceed to do your burnout. When you want to go forward you just hit the button again and it unlocks the front brakes. Cartek makes a excellent kit that I recommend anyone get for there vette. :)

Thanks.

Yea I need to work on my 60' too. I would of been better but need some more rubber and VHT!

We pretty much ran similar times, so that is good! I know that some guys were getting 1.6 60' times. If we can get that we will have 11.5's or so.

Great times and sure to get better.

THanks for the good info...I've got soo much to learn about drag racing! Congrats on the awesome times...certainly didn't take you long!

What's on the horizon for your new ride?

Not too much right now. I want to get the rear bumper cover painted black by the exhaust tips and louvers. Maybe a black stripe kit. Otherwise not too much.

Although if I have the money next winter, H/C/I/E! all the good stuff. LOL

Well I just got the new MC and SC in today along with the Spec III+. The DTE brace will be here at the end of the week. I will install that myself this coming weekend. :D I just hope I dont break the halfshaft on the slicks.
