Any differences between '06, '07, '08 ZO6's?
Also, have there been any reliability problems with the C6 ZO6's? I am searching for a used ZO6 and the 2006 models are obviously the least expensive. The good thing about the 2007 is that the longer factory warranty would alleviate my worries about any potential problems. On the other hand I would like to get a cheap 2006 and do some mild modifications which would void the warranty anyway. I would only want one of these cars if they have a good reliability record. I assume they do because GM covers the powertrain for 5yrs/100,000 miles on '07 and '08 models. Thanks for your input.

I would say if you are planing on doing mods that would void the warranty then get an '06. If you plan to wait a while on the mods then look at an '07 or even an '08. I have seen a few used '08 Z06s go for around $60-62k. I don't think there were any major changes to the '08s though. I would say go for the '06. Just my .02

I'd go for the 06, and mod away. You will get a much better deal on them, and can use that saved money to mod it! While some fool argued till he was blue in the face on another site that the 06 was same HP as the 07 and 08, there have been many reports that they are stroner out of the box.
I guess I might have struck a nerve with this obssesive Z owner.
He has now restated his same rediculous point he tried to make for over a week. I've personally been to many dyno days were bone stock Zs came in all over the board! How can one disregard drivetrain loss ect, ect. This would be ok to do if one did not need anything but a motor to make a car work!

They do come in all across the board. Ive got some cars that barely make 440 rwhp stock, and others that make 470+ stock.
I had a BRAND new 08, 200 miles come in the other day, 350 rwhp, and just FLAT. It took some time with it and pretty tuning intensive with headers to get it back where it should have been.
Some of them take 26* of timing with out a blink, others will not even think of taking 20*.

What kind of nutbag thinks all cars are exactly alike? 1% is 5 frigging HP, on a 500hp car!
More like 10%. The cars are built on different days, different tolerances, by different people. No way in HELL would there be a 1% variation.
Gotta love internet experts.

If you've got 350rwhp on a supposed Z06, then take it back. Why waste the time & money with a botched driveline to begin with?
The 06's and 07's have the T56, the 08's have the TR6060. There are some interior cosmetic differences between the years as well.

My feelings exactly! My 04Z06 dyno'd at 350rwhp stock. If I paid what it takes for a C6Z06, and it made what my C5Z made, I'd be freakin' ticked to say the least!
