First Mod's?
 

I'm looking to help a friend who bought a 98 C-5 last night. I would guess the initial power mod's would be the same as my 99 SS. Lid, exhaust and so on. :confused: Any info would help a bunch, thanks...

I'd say do all the free mods you can do. Hell, they aint costin ya nothing, so why not? Then, go w/ a "lid", MAF, TB, i'd go w/ full exhaust personally, but thats just how i am, then heads/cam, and then stuff like a clutch, and etc.

But thats just my side, some ppl may see it differently

I wouldnt mod the MAF at all, I dont think any of the "free mods" are worthwhile on a C5, I havent even done a TB bypass on my boltons+cam car.

The first things I would do is a Vararam or Halltech TRAP, a shifter (either a modified stock one, or aftermarket), 02 Z06 muffler system. After that I'd do headers, then gears.

There is no real power in the exhaust on a C5 except for headers IMHO, but its worth upgrading because the stock system sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

Zip tie mod..lol. Please clue me in on this mod. The headers don't look like too hard of an install on the Vette. Will anything need to be relocated?

Hey Runner, I don't think the standard C5 suffers as much as the ZO6. Due to the smaller aspect ratio tire on the ZO6 and different shocks and springs, there is quite a bit of space between the tire and the fender on the ZO6. The regular C5 doesn't look as bad. Anyway, I have seen a lot of F-bodys that were pretty jacked up in the back.....

Anybody wanna do some muddin'????!!!!!!!
