Cool New PB, Broke some ****, great times!

https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-results/988973-my-car-manned-f-ck-up-today-new-pb.html

Click on the link for a good back story.

Since then I have installed a Tick Perf. Master Cyl. The DA was between -85 to 200 which was awesome, had a good headwind.

1st run I lined the car up, made a spin in the water, and no helper there to tell me if I was far enough back.

I attempt a 2nd gear burnout and it wheel Hopped BAD, and then the car spun due to not having warmed tires.

I did 12.9 @ 112....

Now the diff is doing what it did on the last tru trac, acting like a locker.... ***** ******. I ******* hate these things.

2nd run I made sure I got some water on the tires, did a better burnout. Launched off the limiter or close to it and the car shocked me, I forgot how hard this thing hits. I got yanked back and my foot came off the gas. People said wheels were lifted.

12.4 @ 112 1.879 60'
-85 DA

3rd and final run, I put the car down to 14 psi, adjusted the MC to it engages fully, got a great burnout and left off at 5k.and I had all clean shifts. I can powershifts but I need to practice to make myself quicker.

ET 12.339
MPH 112.10
60' 1.759
1/8 7.92 @ 89.16
DA 167

A new personal best in this car.

When changing my tires I noticed the bump stops are hitting the rear hard, The transfers weight so well that I need to control it better. Over the winter....

Spohn Sway Bar
Adj. Shocks w/ spring
Convo Pros w/ tires

My rear does not drive well, the posi is binding up well like it did the last time this happen. Just a word of advice, anyone looking for a diff.

DO NOT GET AN EATON TRU TRAC.

They are ******* junk.

It cost me GOOD money to fix it last time, I am just going to keep driving unit it granades, and I got another unit that "fixed" itself 2 days before taking it out.

I got some things to work on but over all I am happy the car hits HARD. But thats learning on a stick car, if your not breaking parts, your not going fast!

Yeah, it was a fun day. More and more though, I wish I had gone with the Strange rear like I wanted. That'll teach me to get talked out of things after making my mind up.

Oh well, live and learn Ron. Your unit may make a lilttle noise but if you ever even put some real power and some real stick to the tires, at least its rebuildable unlike my garbage.

You guys would not believe how loud my 12-bolt is. I, too, wish I had gone with the Strange. That's what I get for buying the same crap as Ron. The only difference between our cars is that when I buy the same stuff as him, my car makes less power and breaks quicker. Ah well, at least I have the quicker time slip.

For now.... lol.

All depends on who has what for $$$ and the ballz to do some more modding. I have ballz but no extra $$$ damn MBA degree.....

Oh for the both of you, your units are not broken, I say sell them and buy a Strange and be done with it, if thats is what it is going to take, 12 bolts sell for good $$$, in the end it maybe only a few hundred out of the pocket and I will help if yea need.

I personally would go 9" or the new Moser M9 fab housing.

I would think it should run a bit faster than that with what you have......

seems as if those times should belong to someone with full bolt ons... not all your mods, plus some weight reduction

For reference, my car built from recycled junk parts ran a 12.4 @ 112 on street tires. 1.97 60'

Mods

Mac mids
ORY
3" flowmaster 1 chamber catback
ASP 25% underdrive pulley
LS6 intake, p&p stock TB
3500 stall
Notcam, ls6 springs
Old mail order tune, stock shift points hitting limiter every gear.
3.42 gears

With tires and my new tune shifting at 6300 without hitting the limiter, my car should be running 11.8's...

My Car is tuned, it heavy. With me it was

Done by the same shop that recently had the fastest LSX n2o car in the country.

Automatic cars run faster then stick cars just a FYI.

Weight with all the stuff in is 3950 and me in it (im a bit heavy)

With me driving the the things that I took out was about 3720

I am NOT a huge fan of perf. calculators BUT being a stick car they are a bit more reliable. I know I could be faster on the shifting.... but here is a few, run the #'s and it says the car makes about 420hp but also the car should be 1-3 tenths faster I would launch harder then 6k dump but the body slams the rear and I need QA1's to stiffen everything back there...

Here is some data....

Race Weight (with me in it): 3720lbs
1/4 ET: 12.33
1/4 Trap: 113

http://www.fbody.com/calc.htm

http://hpcalc.boostcontroller.com/

http://www.dsm.org/tools/calchp.htm

Based on ET it shows just about 390 and based on MPH its about 419-420hp.

So I dont know how much of a turd it is, being a cam only with bolt ons. I will not gut the car, just taking weight out where I can and I certainly can stand to loose some weight but thats on me.

Yea, good luck with that. I run at LVD, so weather is never our friend....

MAYBE on a -3000 DA day at Atco and a 1.5x 60 foot, the would be in the 11's and NO WAY near 120+ mph, your smoking crack.

Take a look at the mods too, nothing has been lightend in the driveline.

It just seems way too low on power IMO.

I trapped 112 with Headers, lid, catback and about 3550 lb raceweight... way back in 03.
In fact I ran 12.2 @ 112 1.71 60' stock susp, except for a torque arm. Stock ls1 intake, etc.....

Just seems like it has no ***** IMO, sorry.

Meh, what can I say. it is not going back to the dyno till the spring, so nothing can be verified. There are dyno #'s and I do question them, but we will see.

I guess he's not the only one smoking rocks then. The car he referenced went 120 mph at the end of june when track temps were 110 degrees with a raceweight of 3630 and 60 ft. of 1.80. Six speed car also. Same car in november weighing 3710 (stock wheels w/ 17in. drag radials rather than welds) went 11.49 @ 122.5 with a 1.70 60 ft. None of this was done with pedal to the floor shifting. If you car is making the power it should then you just need more seat time.

I would consider a Spohn anti-sway to get the wiggles out and launch pin straight.
Moser 12 bolts suck, yes you can become deaf from the whine--what you say, sorry,Im a little deaf from my Moser.LOL
Must take VooDoo,black magic, animal sacrifice ,sell soul to devil and win the lottery luck to set one up and keep it Q_U_I_E_T.

Have fun with it,it's a heavy beast,6 speed.[just my opine]Good luck with it.
I bet after a good tune you wont believe it's the same car.
