need some help. crazy wheelhop at the track
I went to the track last night with my new setup for flashlights drags. I could not get a decent launch to save my life. I would either spin through 1st or bog it off the line. Either way, i would wheelhop bad about every single time and only getting a best 1.86 60'. Tire pressure at ~19. Any help would be appreciated.
Here's some details on my car:
6.0 engine
l92 heads
90mm tb
mild cam
bolt ons
built tranny
steel driveshaft
4.10's
sfc's
ford 9" moser rearend
15" rims with brand new MT e/t streets 28" tall

The streets aren't a bad tire, not my choice, but they're not a bad tire...
Drop the pressure to 15, heat them up better. If it doesn't solve it, I'd have to try and get rid of them and try the QTP's... I've spun on them before, but never even thought about wheel hopping...

judging by your mods i'd guess you've got an m6...
i'd try lowering the pressure to 12psi, do a healthy burnout and go from there. if that doesn't help, i'd find a good torque arm and remove the front swaybar. have someone watch the car for you as it launches and tell you how it is transferring weight at launch and through the 1-2 shift.
my buddy went 1.69 on completely stock 1989 iroc suspension (as in stock and 20 years old) with a 6spd and moser 9" (457 gear) spinning his *** off. only real problem was that the car would unload the suspension right after the 60' mark. you could see daylight under the passenger side front tire on the 2-3 shift because of the weak suspension haha.
