something doesn't seem right.

Okay I have a 2001 WS6 M6 with a 408, MS4, 243's and full bolt ons minus electric water pump. The only weight reduction I have done is back seats and spare tire. I have Qa1's all 4 corners and UMI adjustable suspension.
I am running the stock gears in the 10 bolt on street tires.
My problem is I only ran a 12.064 at 115.97 and i cut a 1.847 60ft. My best run was 12.059 @118 but that was with bald tires I thought I would do better with good tires but I didn't. What is wrong? I think I have it all covered.

well weight is your enemy .....so your leaving time on the table there , 60ft is not bad but can improve greatly to a 1.60 or better ...gearing is also holding you back ,get 4.10's and a mickey drag radial and a 12bolt ,loose some weight (car wise ) take off your front sway bar and launch the thing :D

car should be going 11.50's minimum

Sorry I did pull the sway bar off I meant to post that. But isn't 1.8 pretty good for street tires, Riken cobra's (and they are actual street tires not E/T streets)?

Not exactly sure but I don't think it is to high.

yes 1.8 is good i was doing that on street tires .....with a radial you should be going 1.6 or better ...:D what were you launching at ? on a 10 bolt not to high im assuming so yes you have room to grow so the times are not that bad ....how much power are you making ?

smokinponcho73 Jul 6, 2009 04:26 PM

When I first dynoed it I put down 470 on a MD about 1000 miles later 455 on a DJ. I was launching at about 3k.
Thanks Brandon

well be careful with the 10 bolt and that kind of power lol... but once you get a 12 bolt and some slicks come out at 6000 or so and then you'll see how the car really runs :D
