Default FINALLY: first track times ever (i know its ounds cliche)

EDIT: video on post #15

ok, so went out to Atco today and i gatta say- FREAKIN HOT

it was my first time to the track but i dont think i did too bad, my goals were just to run a 12.99 or 114mph (neither happened)

*i achieved my best 60fts popping/slipping clutch from 2500rpm with 25psi in the tires- i also tired 40psi(14.0) and 20 psi(13.3s)

1st
R/T.......625
60'.......2.415
330......6.265
1/8......9.347
mph.....82.43
1000....11.930
1/4......14.051
mph.....107.21
DA.......1557
(40psi in tires, kicked sideways in 1st and 2nd)

2nd
R/T.......600
60'.......2.074
330......5.700
1/8......8.615
mph.....83.97
1000....11.110
1/4......13.188
mph.....109.14
DA.......1665
(25psi, barely spun going into 2nd)

3rd
R/T.......399
60'.......2.094
330......5.707
1/8......8.586
mph.....85
1000....11.052
1/4......13.112
mph.....109.92
DA.......1903
(same as above)

4th
R/T.......773
60'.......2.268
330......5.928
1/8......8.826
mph.....84.74
1000....11.301
1/4......13.365
mph.....109.89
DA.......2095
(20psi)

5th

R/T.......515
60'.......2.171
330......5.856
1/8......8.786
mph.....83.49
1000....11.291
1/4......13.372
mph.....109.09
DA.......2095
(20psi and raced a dragster )

the last run was redic, i literally saw the dragsters speed and time before i even shifted into 4th lol- after this run my oil press dropped to 0, after popping the hood realized my half-*** EGR blockoff plate came undone after 3 years- TIME FOR AN LS6
... IN SHORT: 13.1@110 with 2.0 60 and 1900DA... ganna head over the Etown after the ls6 and some nittos- 12 sec slip here i come!

EDIT: trying to get some more pics- but this is all i have so far:

ok, just looked at the time slips and redid the DA calc (first one was based off dragtimes.com) and based on the weather on my slip and that they were announcing 120 degrees on the track- the DA came out to 5200+... after the correction that brings the car from a corrected 12.8 to a corrected 12.27

now the "corrected" 12.8 is more logical for my car on street tires and the 12.27 is right were i want to be with a 1.6-1.7 60ft on some DRs/LS6 intake

and just to put this out there- i have a 13.1 second car still- just want to get mentally prepared for Etown on what times ill be hitting there (hopefully with a better DA)

120 is the temp of the track, not the air temp used to calculate DA. Don't worry though Atco will be -2000 in a few months!

ok, so to calculate DA i go by all of the dragtimes stuff like i did- but the humidity on drag times days 60% my slips say 100% what do i go by for that.. as well as the barometer

- i wont be making it back to atco till next yr, ganna try Etown on aug 22 before i go back to college- hopefully some mid 12s after the ls6 and my buddy's nittos

ummm where to start- cai, lid, filter, p&p tb, no egr or air, stb, sfc, 12 bolt 33spline axles eaton posi 4.11 gears, 1 7/8 headers, catted Y, tsp rumbler, lcas, tq arm, bfg sports tires, steel driveshaft, shiftlight, pro 5.0 shifter, 60* stat, tune, about 100lbs out of the car

um thats about it performance wise, some small things but not much, bascially full bolt ons minus the ls6 intake

With good weather and some DRs I would guess you could run 12.2 to 12.4 as long as you can get your 60' time down in the 1.7x range. Congrats!

I doubt you will cut a 1.6-1.7 60' on nitto;'s with an m6. More like 1.8 maybe high 1.7. Your car doesnt trap very high for the mods at all, 109, even in the conditions isnt that good at atco. Have you changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter lately? Who did your tune? What kind of power does the car make? You want to run good times, get some slicks with an M6. Until you get real good at launching you wont be going anywhere on nitto's..

nitto drag radials are that bad? the car put down 325hp/342tq SAE corrected before the 12 bolt- tuned by vette doctors

plugs n wires were changed when i did the headers- 6 are msd 2 are oem(header burnt up 2 msds) maybe thats hurting me?

fuel filter hasnt been changed.... the 13.112 (from what my dad says) looked like a perfect launch and run down the track

On a 6 speed, IMO MT et street radials, or slicks.

I was never happy with my vette doctors tune, I dont think they pay camaro owners the same attention as they do a vette. But thats another story.

For your mods, that seems pretty low imo, unless this was recent. They had a dynojet when I used them, I think they might have a mustang dyno now. Either way change the fuel filter first. Your MPH is low for your mods. What are you shifting at?

my shiftlight comes on at 5700 and it usually is on for about .3 second before i shift- i go through the traps letting the shift light sit on for a good .8 seconds- maybe i should bump that up to 5900rpm-

now that im thinking about it, considering that i go through the trap at 110 (theoretically 6000rpm) and the shiftlight is on that long, im prob only shifting at ~5780rpm in 1,2, n 3

and ive never heard a good thing about vette doctors- but agreed its a different story

the tune was over 2 years ago on a dynojet- i wasnt too happy with the numbers, but i have 323+ hp for about 1000rpm and now with the 4.11s im always between 5000-6000rpm at full throttle, so im not TOO upset anymore (overall hp > peak)

i want 26 inch et street but def dont have the cash for them- so my buddys nittos will have to due for the time being

... oh and i go through the trap in 4th

Id try shifting at 6000. That would actually put you shifting around 6200-6300.

I trapped almost the same as you with a lot less done so you are leaving some on the table for sure with shifting so low.

Also, just wait a few months. Atco is going to be the best damn track in the nation.

i wont be racing my car again until next year, i go to college upstate- i def think that setting my shift light up for 5700 is whats killing me, maybe after the couple of minor alterations ill be in the low 12- if that happens ill be buying the first round lol
