Does this look right?? 13.01@116mph
Took my C5 to the track for the first time last night and I'm not too happy.
I was only able to make 1 run due to a MAF problem after the first. It was my first time launching the car and I had a lot of wheel hop and a crappy 60' so I'd like some opinions on what I should be close to with a better launch.
60'--2.220
1/4 mile--13.018 @116mph

mods??? i assume a bit is done to have that trap speed. if that slip is right then you have 11's no prob.
but even with that sixty foot it seems you would still be a bit lower. i mean its bad but not that bad. def. has more in it though

I sure hope it has more in it. This is my "FIRST" engine build so I'm just happy it runs!
MODS: Forged Rods/Pistons 348; MS3; Ported 58cc 5.3 heads; Comp 1.75 rockers; ls6 intake; bbk 80mm TB; obx lt's-no cats; M6; stock susp on toyo DR's
Taken into account the car is a convertable, I believe around 3,800lbs, I would still like to see high 11's/Low 12's. Am I expecting too much?
I am Unable to scan my slip right now but here is what it reads:
I1 : 2.220
I2 : 5.742
I3 : 8.587
MPH (I3): 86.257
ET : 13.018
MPH : 116.331
I plan on taking it back to the track this weekend and will surely share my results.

yeah you must have had some trouble on the first half of the track cause you picked up big mph...30mph pickup
get a better tire that will hook and go back. you easily have the low 12's/high 11's you are hoping for. i wouldn't worry
btw, even with your vette being a vert you shouldn't be anywhere near 3800 lbs
it seems you would trap quite a bit more than 116 as well being that you trapped that even having just a subpar eighth mile

Once that's squared away, practice and a set of sticky tires will help a ton.
Good luck!

It looks like you were peddling the first half. The car is making power and it probably has another 2 mph in it. Now you need a drag radial. Unfortunately, that's going to be hard on the IRS and the clutch. Then it'll be hard on the trans. This is how the cost of a good ET climbs quickly.

Yeah it said 3,709lbs-GVWR so 3,300 makes sense.
I actually do have Toyo proxes 295/??/19 drag radials. I'm currently running a centerforce dual friction clutch but can def understand how expensive it can/will get. Any suggested tire pressures for these dr's

Last friday at the test and tune, my friend Jim, in a 1999 C5 w/a manual trans did three 13.01-13.05 runs back to back, trapping at 112-114 mph each time.
60' was a consistant 2.02-2.04.
I would say you are about dead on. [ vette is stock]

Alright, I went back to the track last night and after a few trial and error runs I have gained some improvement.
These were my last two runs of the evening:
60ft-2.228
1/4-12.755 @ 117.8mph
60ft-2.194
1/4-12.613 @ 117.8mph
With these new times I am a lil more satisfied with the car. I am still spinning the tires more then I would like off the line but with some practice I am hoping to reduce the 60' and get into the low 12's

Something weird is definetly going on with this car/driving.
Are your shifts dead on each pass, or are you shifting at different points, or even missing some?
Dropping 4 tenths and gaining 1 mph while having about the same 60 is deff not normal. I would first think of shifting being way different but something still seems off... Cant pinpoint it..
Just get it dialed in with some nice and sticky tires, possibly a 2 step if your ballsy enough and then lets see whats going on.
