Default 10.28 @ 134 1.53 60'.... Who says you can't get down on a 10 bolt...

Finally made a few good hits on the new nitrous kit last night (175ish hit on a ZEX perimeter plate). Previously the car had been 11.41 @ 122 on the motor. The best pass was:

60' 1.53
1/8 6.61
mph 107.48
1/4 10.28
mph 134.17

There is a brief mod overview in my sig. All of this on a stock cubic inch motor, factory stock 10 bolt, and factory torque arm.... Drove it to the track, ran a couple low 10sec passes (one of which netted a 136.5mph but a higher et), and drove it home. Needless to say, I'm really happy with the car!!!

Oh he knows it will go. We always give him a little chit for it too I think that is why he is not using a full hit and doesn't beat on it on the street.

I understand that the 10 bolt is not strong at all... but I disagree with your "lucky" comment... The rear is taken care of well, I don't leave uber hard, I keep the fluid changed frequently, and I don't beat on it on the street (no doughnuts, wheel hop inducing burnouts on shitty pavement, etc)... I, honestly, think that all the dumb **** that people do to these cars on the street is the main reason that these rears go at stock power. I agree that the 7.5'' ring gear is a hinderance, but I think if you're smart about it, you can make one live for a while (I'd like to say that I believe that I can make it into the 9's with the 10 bolt).

With the above said, I'll have the 10 bolt in the car during the shootout this year, but will be throwing a fab 9 in it over the winter.....

Thanks for the congrats guys!!!!

Lol, I don't think changing the fluid regularly keeps it alive longer.

congrats on the results

The 10 bolt will go at some point, but we have seen some live a hard life and never break.

We went many mid 1.4's with my dads 3600+ # 01 Z/28 and never seen an issue..stock trans too. The car does have a Strange 12 bolt and FLT Level 3 now just for the long haul.

It's a 3.42 gear in it. The car was a six speed for the first 48k miles of it's life....

Sweet pass ona 10-bolt, I never had much luck with any of them. You should squeak into the 9's with a better 60'.

10.20's on a 10 bolt is very cool. Just out of curiosity, what is your race weight?

Hey I dont know if you remember me but I was the guy at VMP during the shakedown with my father asking all the questions about your car. That day I thought you were hauling *** now you picked up about 3 tenths.

I think once you get the Fab 9 and some 3:70's or so you'll be in the 9's.

I ran 10.17@133mph on that same 10bolt/m6 3.42 gears in it and it never broke but I swapped it for an 8.8" back when it started making some strange noises in the 60' Nobody believed it had the stock rearend and torquearm. Nice times. Later Clint

Hey, I do remember you guys. It was great talking to yall at VMP. I really get a kick out of people who have an equal appreciation and knowledge of these cars. Thanks for the kind words!!!

Have fun modding your f-body, and feel free to PM if you have any questions, or if you decide to come around this way again!
