Default 1st time to the track with the new ride

I finally went to Atco tonight . I guess its about average .
My 2:73 gears are killing me

My best run was a 13.4 @104.3 mph
60 ft - 2.04
330 - 5.79
1/8 - 8.80 @82.2mph
1000 - 11.35
1/4 -13.49 @104.3

I got to beat up on a turbo civic wee-tech and a old CRX with a turbo ( this one suprised me )
The only problem is Im shifting into drive (3rd gear ) at the 1300 ft mark .
My best was tapping the limiter going through the traps in 2nd gear .
YES ,2nd GEAR !! My average speed was 104.3 -106.2 mph
I had 6 runs in an hour . My worst runs were in "drive" ( 13.60's )My best were my shifting myself (13.40 -50's ). 1/2 tank of gas ,engine @210 degrees at the B.O. box .Flat punch at 1100rpm on the converter on 245 50 16 Goodyear eagle gt tires . No traction problems at all . Im hoping the 3:73's and a good tune will put my in the 12's . Then its converter time

seems to run good.. You shouldn't shift it manually though.. its hard on the tranny and its slower. I know you said it was better for you, but i will have to respectfully disagree...

Expect to either spin a lot with the 3.73 upgrade, or invest in some stickier tires

I hate you automatic guys...you can get away with street tires and stock rearend for an eternity...but yea you'll atleast need some ET streets with a gear and stall.

I learned my lesson with my 9/3 TA.....I spend a fortune on my M6 swap and 9", however, it was a lot more fun on the steet.

Im running the below times with NO stall, gears, and bald 245 tires! Depending on the DA and temp, and the cars is GOOD running condition, with headers, exhaust, and a good tune I think you could very low 13's or high 12's....

3:73's ,p & p throttle body ,! EGR ,!air ,Msd wires ,NGK tr55 plugs (has the original plugs - 95k on them ),180 * thermastat and a tune will be in the next week or 2 . During the winter Ill be doing a converter and drag radials ,then headers , then cam and intake in the spring .Suspension is in there too ( somewhere )

Ta thats about average with a auto/273s. I have been the best of an 8.70@83.84 with stock trany/273s on 245 street tires. Since I added the Loudmouth 1 Catback and SLP Y. I havent ran it but people has told me I should pickup .15-.20. Iam doing 373s,160,and a tune this winter. My goal is 8.1-8.3s.

Sounds good !! I did my P&P T/B ,tr55 plugs ,MSD wires and deleted my EGR and AIR . Ive been too busy at work to get my car in and do my 3:73's . Theyre just sitting on top of my box .I guess Im happy to be busy ,but it figures that we got busy right after my gears came .
