Default Almost Stock 2001 WS6 6 speed goes 12's

picked up this car a few years ago, been driving it as my daily since. Brought it to a track rental last friday.

Only this done to this car is an slp lid and a set of used 275 nittos that a friend gave me the day before we went lol. other then that the car is 100% stock. including a stock clutch with 96k miles. and stock gears

Car was hooking awesome on the 17" 275 nittos. I just wish i had a better clutch to get it to leave harder. i was able to leave on the limiter and it wouldn't even make a chirp.

DA was 1607

best 4 passes of the day:

Damn, your mph in the 1/8 is better than my mild cammed car! I need some tires and a tick master. half my passes I can't get into 3rd. My best 60' on radials is 2.2X. Nice times for a stock car!

Awesome job, man! I was really hoping that you'd crack a 12.99 and after your first pass it was only a matter of how far into the 12's you'd be able get it, haha.

The vids are in HD if you want to change the settings.

Good job, but it sounds like your clutch is slipping and giving you a pseudo soft-lock clutch lol... if you can side step it from the limiter and it not do anything then the clutch is giving...

Sweet times regardless!

Awesome times. I was extremely impressed with this car and the vid of you launching off the limiter is priceless. I'll let SRZ post them up when he grabs them off my computer.

Thank you.
I didn't side step it at all. the car just doesnt make enough power for that with the stock 3;42's in the car.
The clutch is in good shape and works great. it doesn't slip until i launch it really hard. a stock clutch is just not made for the abuse that i put it through that day. if i had a stronger clutch in it i could control it a little bit more and get it to leave a lot harder.

Some great passes!

Looks like a ton of clutch slip (dust/smoke out the back) at launch. Was that causing the clutch to slip in the other gears as a result?

They are Nitto 555 drag radials. Quite used ones as they came off my car when I made the swap to MT's.

There were some issues with the pedal sticking on hard upshifts, but we bled the system and changed the fluid and that fixed the problem.

Aha ok! I do the same thing with mines, I just swap the fluid from the reservoir a couple of times after just a couple of runs. It gets black and contaminated from all the clutch dust pretty easily.
