On my old truck I went from a 3.42 to a 4.10 and the difference was definately felt and the time's showed it as well. I ran mid 13's on motor in a cam only 5.3 3200 stalled bolton 2007 ecsb 4x4 silverado and 12's on a 100 shot with a race weight around 5300lbs.

most of my driving is through stop lights and stop signs...so i would think the 410s would help me out at speed lower than 45(lock up)
but race weight is around 3400lbs with me in it and bolt-ons include CAI, ls6 intake manifold, ported 78mm tb, longtubes, x-pipe, electric cutouts, underdrive pulley...thats all i can think of(may be missing one or two minor things)
here is a full mod list in this vid, its the exact 11 sec pass

a hooking 1.79 60' is pretty sad for a car (or truck haha) trapping 109. you need a real converter with a stall speed at or above 4000 rpm. a hard hitting converter would do you a world of good. the gears don't have anything to do with the slow 60'. i had a 2000 a4 slowmaro that went high 1.6x with just a lid and 4k stall...and DRs of course. stock everything else, including 3700lb raceweight and 273 gears. stock tune, stock susp, intake, etc etc.
get a good converter, forget the gears, you don't need them. also, going to 410s with a 4l60 will really limit you when you start making power. you'll be juggling tires and shift points to avoid shifting to OD.

Well do you want to go for the record or do you want to save 1 MPG? I lost maybe 1-2 MPG going from 2.73 to 3.73 and lost about the same going from a stock stall to a 4K stall. I think your money is best spent on a bigger stall and suspension work if needed to lower that 60 ft. After daily driving my 4k stall I'm glad I didn't get anything smaller, it really woke my car up.
