Default First trip out after spring mods, results!

Last year I picked up a 2000 Formula Firebird, hardtop V8 6spd and all that. Had a lid/K&N on it and I unlocked the computer with HPT but kept it mostly stock, just a little extra RPM basicaly. On a nice fall day with a well prepped track I got a pair of 12.9s at 109, this being the best:

60': 1.99
330': 5.56
1/8th: 8.42 @ 86.35
1000': 10.87 @ 100.15
1/4: 12.93 @109.60

That was on the stock 16" street tires, some crappy yokohamas. Anyways, I did some mods to it the weekend I pulled it out of storage and those include:

LS6 intake, TSP 1 7/8ths headers and their ORY, Magnaflow cat back, Powerbond pulley, poly motor/trans mounts, !AIR, !EGR, Comp hardened pushrods, Comp trunion kit, a Comp 218/224 114 (the low lift version (~.526I & .534E) I got it realy cheap here otherwise it wouldn't be cammed ) and LS6 springs. I have also tuned it myself using the guides around here and elsewhere. It hits its AFR targets and feels pretty good around town. Anyways, the new times...

The best ET of the day:
60': 2.00
330': 5.39
1/8th: 8.12 @ 90.82
1000': 10.45 @ 106.15
1/4: 12.41 @ 115.04

Fastest trap:
60': 2.17
330': 5.66
1/8th: 8.41 @ 90.29
1000': 10.73 @ 105.67
1/4: 12.69 @ 115.92

I'm still on the crappy yoks, but the strip was in very good shape, enough that I still bogged most of my runs. The best ET run had the least bog, and no wheelspin on the 1-2 shift. Most of the other runs were 12.5-12.7s with a few 12.8s late in the day where I either used to much RPM at the launch, or fell vicitim to the sticky clutch pedal. Car scaled at 3580 with me in it and very little gas.

Overall, I'm very happy with the MPH gained from the mods, but wish the ET was a tenth or 2 quicker. Pretty sure with drag radials I'd be in the 11s, but the stock clutch would cry uncle I think, so thats next on the list. I still have a few odds and ends to do like porting the TB and then some actual dyno time to pin down the WOT tuning for best power. After that I'll just enjoy it the rest of the summer and maybe try for a new best in the fall air.

Default

thats pretty good for whats done. If you drop a few tenths off the 60ft you'll be getting close to the 11s.
