Default 14.5 ls1 :(

So my first time ever at the track... Driving the m6 TA .. First run well I beat a 650hp z06........because he spun and crashed in front of me.......

Second run, I missed second and let off early...

3 run and only clean run for me of the night.

60ft. ---- 2.359
1/8 -----9.5089 @ 75.5
1/4 -------- 14.5380 @98.64

DA was 4937'

Short shifted ever shift on this run but based on my trap speed, I'd say I left a little on the table.... Not not mention my 2.3" 60' ....

What do you guys think for a first run?

what rpm are you shifting?

i think that car has a lot left in it. it still picked up 23+ mph on the backhalf which is about right for a stock m6 car.

first run w/ the car, not surprising.

air down your street tires to 22+/- psi, go around the water box, just roll them to clean them off and use a quick slip of the clutch from 3k or so and you should manage a decent 60'...unless you're simply on a skating rink.

I did air down my tires and avoided the waterbox on run 2 and 3. Run 2 when I found 2nd I still broke lose run 3 was in the opposite lane as 1 and 3 and managed to dead hook but I didn't launch at any rpm as I was having trouble sticking before. Run 1 against the vette WAS a skating rink.. He had slicks with 10lbs with 650hp and couldn't stick and crashed in front of me.... Luckily I wasn't getting traction...... I did short shift run 3 because of my bad luck I was having but after run 3 I shut it down for the night, happy to have got 1 clean run....

I'm thinking I could have hit 13.9x last night with a little practice.. 2.3 60' could have been had for 1.9 with another run or 2.... And I could have trapped 10xmph without short shifting...

It's definitely a differant game at the track vs. street.

13.6 is what the DA calculator said it would be if my DA wasn't 5000'. Lol

ya i hear ya. why were you short shifting? i only shift around 5500 and it seems to be the sweet spot for my 99 car.

Practice. That sounds 100% normal for your 1st time out with a 5000 DA

"Granny shifting, not double clutching like you should..." Jk...hang in there man. Takes a bit to get the launches and shift points down. There is plenty left in her. Patience, and Mods!

baalic i feel you on your first time
I also went to the track for the first time last night and ran 4 times...
1).16.5/ 3.48 60ft lol
2).15.2
3).14.8
4).14.7 only 90mph? 2.63 60ft
Being my first time i wasnt sure what to really expect. But looking online it says the stock speed for the ss is like 13.1? Is that attainable on street tires with my mods and yes of course practice? and what speed should i be looking to finish at?

Well lonewolf what was your DA on these runs?? If yours was as bad as mine I bet the best you could hope for is high 13's. At sea level with good DA and perfect shifting low 13's is what to expect... I was watching 1500 hp twin turbo TA's run only 9's.... With a 4xx ci motor and stripped to nothing on full slicks.... I'd say on street tires with good track prep it's possible. I was in an m6 also, making it harder to launch and not to mention having to shift...

I'd say go back again, try again, and get a da calculator because if you ran those times with like a 300 DA then it's Eaither your car or driver mod...

With a good da my time would have been around mid 13's. "13.6 " so with that I was happy knowing I left a little on the table...

@spydermonkey what can I say I live my life a quarter mile at a time...

@Bds. What's an average DA where your at?

So this year, with a full tank of gas, 6000' DA but new tires, even though i missed 3rd

2.1. 60'

14.1 @ like 8x?? Mph. I missed third!!! But, id say I got a little better. Had i ran more then twice i would have met my mid/high 13.xx mark just by not missing 3rd and with a decent launch..

I lost my dang slips though so i dunno my exact numbers now

stock tach is slow. My best times were shifting right before hitting 6200 rev limiter(around 5500 according to stock tach).

2.2s 60ft time was quickest I could get consistently stock.

relax, best way to practice. Launch around 2k rpms at part throttle and focus on shifting cleanly through the gears. Get consistent, then you can change launch or shift rpms and see which helps or hurts

Also, staging affects times. Stage shallowly as possible. This will give a runnign start before the clocks start. do a search on this. Deep staging is for quick reaction times. Shallow staging gives you a slight running start and better ET;s

A stock ls1 should run 13's. In the mountains on a hot day 14's is normal. At sea level at night low 13's or even high 12's is possible. Ask around when at the track, if everyone else is running slow, so will u

I got my shifting down but clutch has been locking me out if i
Shift too fast... And sometimes uts will catch a brief grind with the clutch all the way in. Ya ya, ill be upgrading that soon, it just sucks because my car only has 37k miles on it.

Oh and fwiw, full bolt on ls1's run high/mid 13's at our track... So 14.1 completly missing 3rd with a 2k rpm launch with a bog.... And still pulling a 2.1 60'.... I was happy. I know how fast the cars are. What they should run, etc, mostly I was just trying to learn how to launch the car at the track. On the streets of mexico, i have a 2010 Camaro kill but my first time at the track, the Z06 that crashed in front of me in my lane had me spooked....

I'll get my 13.6 second pass, I can feel it!! I ran way faster this year with a full tank almost, vs 1/8th last year, and 1000' worse DA and missing 3rd, "which of course I missed a gear last year on one of my runs too.

I honestly think 90% of it was in the Nitto's. I cpuld not get traction
At all last year, and i bogged this year!!!

Anyways, I'll update on my next time at the track... I really feel confident about a 13.5-13.6 pass at 10x mph and a 1.9 60'
