Default 6.05 @ 115.6 mph 1/8 mile "cam only" + spray

We're preparing to run some local 275 real street classes, and while the 427 we're building is in the works we decided to go ahead and let the stock 346 have all the nitrous that an .082 jet would give it LOL.

With about 10 passes now making 645 rwhp through a powerglide and 9" rear, our Polluter Cammed stock bottom end LS1 with stock 241 heads managed a 6.05 @ 115.6 mph with a 1.389 sixty during competition yesterday at Piedmont Dragway near Greensboro NC.

Racewieght was 3160 lbs. With a converter spec'ed for the All Pro headed 427 we're building, a 1.80 geared power glide, and only a 3.89 gear in the rear we are very pleased with how the little LS1 is running!

On the dyno we picked up 255 rwhp with nitrous using a Nitrous Pro Flow 4150 plate.

If we pull out the extra 75 lbs bolted in the rear of the car and catch some good weather theres no doubt this little LS1 would go 5's in the 1/8.

Yes, the rotating assembly is a completely stock 99 model LS1 we removed from a customers Z28 a couple of years ago. It has about 50,000 miles on it. Its never been apart, never balanced or anything like that. It does have Katech rod bolts. I'm only turning it to 6,500 rpms for fear of it breaking a rod with this much power.

The converter is a custom 9" unit from Ultimate Converters. It was built to be used with a 1000 hp 427/nitrous combo on 275 radials. With the LS1, it can only muster about 3000 rpms on the transbrake. We had to back the nitrous window switch down to 2900 rpms to get it to leave on spray LOL.

That is impressive!!

I think the setup is a bit confused! Haha
Crazy what even a setup is "mismatched" can do.

Race weight?

3160ish lbs all day. There is a 3150 weight rule for nitrous small block combos. It deffinately would run better with a different converter. I wonder what it would do with some heads...

We've got 75 lbs bolted down in the rear of the car to make weight.

That's insane.. to think with a set of heads taking extra weight out and a converter specd for that setup.. it could see 5.7s@almost 120 maybe.... or blow up! Haha

very nice. Thats what we run as well, should see 5.90's on the 26x8.5s soon. A little more raceweight (3320) though and with an ms3. We run outlaw 8.5 out here with ours.

thats awesome. Congrats.

gives me hopes. Here I was worried about putting a 150 through my ms3 cam only ls1.... Gone through 7 bottles of 100 shot, and 1 bottle of the 150 so far.

Yes sir, hopefully it will be running a lot better with the new engine by then. Gonna bring our other car too....434 c5r headed camaro on the same size shot. It should go deep in the 8's if we can hook it. I'm supposed to take delivery of a Slack converter for it this week and then it will be ready.
