I have a 2000 SS m6 with lt's, ory, baby cam, and a tune; that's it. It made 372rwhp. I went to the strip for the first time in it last night and discovered it goes through the traps in 3rd gear at 114mph. It seems I have stock 3.42's but this is my first car that didn't go through the traps in 4th. I shift at 6200rpm's and my limiter is 6900. I short shifted to fourth gear @ 5900 rpm's and trapped 111 mph. Going through the traps in 3rd at 6500 netted 3 more mph. Anyone else have an ls1 that doesn't need 4th in the 1/4? On a 2.2 60' it went 12.9 @114.

what size tire? i did find out my stock ta crossed the traps @ 103 in 3rd on the rev limiter. i can't see 300 rpm making up 10 mph. this was on the stock 17" wheel and tire.

Stock 275/40/17's. There was speculation of my car having 3.23's but @60 in 6th, I'm 1400rpm's so I'm sure I have the stock 3.42's.

ya sounds like 342s, that's right where this car sits @ 60 in 6th with the same tire.

cool. i shift to 4th, but the stock cam isn't much good past 5700 or so anyway.

Yes most likely its the cam cause u can still make hp in 3 rd and not hit the limiter .
