Default Three 9 sec. passes at MIR

Took the car out on its maiden voyage this past Friday. First pass i was just going to footbrake it and run out the 1/8th but it felt good so i stayed in it and ran it out the back. I just stalled the car up to 2k and let it rip. This was the first pass on this motor and the slip came back as:

1.45- 60'
6.44@107
10.14@133

Went back to the pits and checked everything over and drained the catch can and decided to make a full pass off the brake, results were:

1.41- 60'
6.36@108
10.05@133

Pits again and the same procedure with a slight shock and shift light adjustment. i told my buddy that was there that i didnt care if it went 9.999 i just wanted a single digit pass and i knew it was definitely there. slip came back as:

1.37- 60'
6.33@108
9.998@134

next was another suspension adjustment and:

1.38- 60'
6.34@109
9.995@135

decided to bump the light up another hundred rpms and turn the shocks back down to a 3 :

1.32- 60'
6.27@109
9.93@135

I was pretty happy for having the car out for the first time in months and also with a whole new combo. heres is a video of the 9.93 pass in and out of the car and a few pics.

Good to hear. I have alot of faith that you can get the car to 9.30 by the time you have it 100%.

Car's still heavy... if you can get it to 3000 lbs, or the 2900 I was aiming for with that engine, that alone will have a big impact.

I think the converter needs to be loosened up a touch, get an 8 inch one that will flash up to about 5500 to 5800 and you are really going to see it come to life.

Vaccum pump is going to help, and getting the engine broken in the rest of the way will help too, probably a tenth or so there at least.

If, you spend the $ on a better intake for that motor, I bet there's another 30 hp in it from that. The one that's on there was a good starting point, and I think there's more in the car with it on there, but I'm sure that a better intake more matched to the engine will result in a pretty big gain as well.

Shifting it up around 7800 will help alot too.. that camshaft should make power to 8000

good results and sure with more tweaks and testing you will see the ET drop and MPH climb

I remember going 11.2@122 first few times out and after a season of tests and minor changes went 10.6@126.
