Default First time at the track. What do you think??

Ok so i took my Camaro to the track for the first time last night and just wondering what people think. I have a 2000 LS1/M6 combo with bbk longtubes n y pipe, slp loudmouth 1, lid with k&n, all the free mods and a simple efi live tune. I simply took egr/air off the computer with my efi and have no idea how to tune gas stuff. I have umi lca and panhard running on 245/40r18 street tires. I ran a 13.22 at 109 with 2.87 60 ft times. I had people tell me I was slow as hell and some people tell me that my car ran good for a almost stock car. What do you guys think?? This is how my run went... spun off the line, backed off, floored it and spun again in 1st... then finally grabbed and took off. I ran by myself and thought i was going pretty fast. Im totally hooked on dragging my car. Can i get away with slicks with my setup??? Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

it must have been a smoke show haha. . sorry you need to take off from a idle and slowly lay into it not flooring till you hit 2nd but still shifting at good rpm. your time it self isnt bad youll be good into the 12's with a good launch. get some better tires and/or work on the driver mod.

245 isnt that bad for width but the lack of side wall is whats killing you cause it dont give to the power coming on. youd be better off with your stock rims with some 245's at the track. or just get some hella wide tires 275's and up

Holy crap 60ft time! Lmao dude you get that 60ft time to like a 2.0 or something like that you'll definitely be in the 12s .. rule of thumb usually every .1 in the 60ft is .2 in the 1/4. Mph looks in the mid to high 12s possibly! Get the launch down put a 275 tire launch low out of the hole and ride the clutch out dont drop it,and giver hell buddy... good luck

Ya like i said, im new at it and holy cow and i hooked. This was the last weekend the track was open so Im looking at a cam install for the off season. I have my stock 16" tires and will be buying slicks for them as well. I have a set of 4.10 richmonds and a install kit sitting in the garage but havnt installed yet. Im deciding whether or not to sell them or put them in. Heard bad things about slicks and the stock rearend. Should i put them in and give er hell? I mean, if i break i have no other choice but to upgrade then. lol Any offers on the gears??

if u got just normal 275s would help a lot, 315s even more, 275 in a street slick would make a world of diff, good tires and should be in the 12s

2.8 60 ft and you still run a 13.2 wow that's impressive.low 12 sec easy with some traction.

Just to give a comparison, I am usually 2.13-2.15 60' with a bone stock LT1 and run 14.20's. I'd say you could run in the 12's pretty easy.

Check your slip again or post it please. I'm having a very hard time seeing your car running anywhere near a 13.22 with a 2.8 60'.

this. although on one pass my car went 13.24 @ 103 with a 2.3 60' due to randomly skating down the track in basically the first 3 gears haha.

13.2 @ 109 is a respectable time for those tires and mods. i think the car is hiding some power based off the fact you spun so much. i say this because i have seen many cars under perform at the track (due to spinning) and turn around on the street and pull faster cars (trap).

don't put slicks on it. a 255 drag radial will do wonders, just don't let it wheelhop and don't be doing rev limiter clutch dumps on that 10 bolt or you'll be replacing it soon. above all else, have fun.
