Default New best in the ls1 Chevelle

Car is finally trapping around what I thought it should. I added 1.5* timing (27* total), upped the shifts to 6700rpm, and pulled the caps on the cutouts. Also splashed in some 94 octane Sunoco for the drive up just to be sure no spark was pulled on 91 octane.

DA was around 1100ft and the first pass I spun but trapped 115mph so I knew it was going to be a good day.

Next pass I feathered it out of the hole and got a new best:

1.71 60ft
4.86 330ft
7.5 1/8th
93 MPH

9.82 1000ft
11.79 1/4
114 MPH

The car has gone a 1.68 60ft before, so if I can get back down there again it has more in it.

My favorite thing about the car is driving 2 hours to the track getting around 20mpg, airing down the tires, and lining up next to a trailered "race car" and running close or better than it.

Although the day I do break something I guess joke's on me, but I figure the money I save every time I don't is enough to pay for the extra trip to get a trailer when I do.

Exactly! Same here, i drove mine to the track sunday, busted 11.5's all day and drove it home. The only thing i did was air down the tires then air them back up when i left. Never popped the hood lol.

Only reason I pop the hood is the rubber intake ducting I use gets heat soaked otherwise.

Nice time for the big old hot rod. It's always a plus to make the commute,
runns great times, and knock down respectable mileage.....
