Default 8.27 in the 1/8

Since last year I have installed a new 3600 revmax converter and had gomer on here do a street tune. For the last couple weeks it has rained or I have been busy. The weather was great yesterday but I was at my buddies wedding all day. It was over at 9:45 and the track closes at 12 so I decided to go the 45 minutes and try to get a couple passes in. With the 3600 stall and 2.73's the car will not do a brakestand burnout. Anyway on my 3rd pass the car felt better than ever and went an 8.27 with a 1.99 60ft. The other pass it went 8.51 with a 2.17 60ft. The mph clocks were not working. The car needs a linelock and the 3.42 gears bad. Its not impressive but I am happy with the car. I figure with gears and traction it will be a high 7 second car

Street tires? If so the converter isn't doing anywhere near what it can for you. That size converter with traction should have you in the 1.7 range 60'.... .1 in the 60' is .2 on the final ET. You have easy 7s in it.

I'm guessing since 1/8 times you were in Huntsville?

We will be going in about 2 weeks... How is track prep?

Good runs.

Yup.. Little better traction and it knock off quite a bit more.

I am putting a Revmax 3400 in my car this week. No brakestand burnout, even in the waterbox????? Got me worried some!

It has 245 50 16 555r's. not the greatest tire by any stretch but a good all around tire. On my car it will not do a burnout holding the brakes but once I let off it will roast them easily. From a 15mph roll it will spin. I ran at lassiter mountain since it's the closest track, I have never been to Huntsville since that would be close to 100 miles from my house each way.

like I said, it won't do a burnout so the 60ft was crap and it spun bad lol. For such a bad 60ft I was pleased with the results

What was the DA? that will make a huge difference.

For comparison sake, my car ran 8.20's @ 87mph with only a lid & headers on 245 street tires, my 60's were 1.95-2.1

I got new 245/50r16 555r's and went 8.07 @ 89 mph in slightly better DA (-200 ft)

This was all done on the stock trans & converter. I would think a 3600 stall would put you in the 7's easily. But those 2:73's aren't helping. (my car came stock with 3:23's)

not sure on the da, it was about 60 degrees out so I am sure it was pretty good. I believe with gears and a line lock the car will be in the 7.80-7.90 range. My car with a stock tune with headers, lid and 555r's went an 8.62 at 85 in about 300ft da.

You'd be better off going to 3.73s, better in the 1/8, and mpg won't be any different than the 3.42s. Do a search for bolt-on cars, most run 3600-4000 converters and 3.73s. A friends 02Z (NJ02Z) went 11.98 at Atco with bolt-ons, 60' was in the low 1.6s!! When you run again take all unnecessary weight out (spare, jack, related items) and run your gas down to about 1/4 tank! Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress!! Larry
