Default Looking for a new best tonight (pics added)

Well after a long winter and most of spring the car is ready to go. I still have a few parts to put on (elec. water pump, panhard bar and abs delete), but the car is running and ready to go after all new rear suspension, tires, driveshaft and freshly rebuilt injectors. Hoping for a new best, hoping to hit 6.90's 1/8th mile. Wish me luck and I'll post results tonight!

Heres my first pass... was supposed to just be a shakedown pass, but pulled the wheels with tires @ 24psi then went into bad wheel spin/ wheel hop. Only ended up being a 1.8 60 ft.

Rolling into the throttle trying to get short times down, doing half track passes bc i got warned i was running too fast and couldnt go any faster than 7.45 otherwise i would get kicked from track

One of my better passes rolling into throttle 1.6 60 ft. I do believe this is the pass i got kicked out on. time in sig.

and one for giggles

Well hit a 7.19 and 7.14 at 97 with a 1.65 and 1.57 60 ft. It's got more in it had to roll into the throttle otherwise it would just grab then spin the tires off of it. I need to see where my pinion angle and instant center is at then I'll try it again. Track wasn't hooking well for anybody tonight

Mind if i ask how much power you making....rear gear...weight? I have a bolt on car running 7.5's on motor and 6.9's on 100 shot with 3.73 gears and just over 3500#. Was curious if its mainly the cam getting you down there or alot of gear.

I've never had the car on the scales, but if i had to guess id say 3100-3200 race weight. The car made 415/391 about 3 years ago when i did the cam swap which is a 240 duration .600 lift cam. The car has a 4.30 gear with a 4k stall. Im on a built 4l60e which is causing me problems due to flare shifting... need to find someone who is knowledged in trans tuning.

Thought i would update this finally... I hit my goal for this year, which was 6's in the 1/8th cam only. In some decent air back in October the car went 6.98 @ 98 with a 1.52 60ft. I didnt think the car was going to do it after so many failed attempts. I was already looking at making changes to the car and adding a fast intake to get it there, but glad that I didnt. Overall I am very happy with the car, but now its time to move on and Im not sure what i want to do yet. Part of me wants to go more cubes the other part wants to keep the motor i have now and add a 100-200 shot. Decisions decisions....

yes i did trans has been working like it should with no issues so far. Its amazing how a little too much or not enough ( a little too much in my case) trans fluid can cause so many problems for these 4l60e's. Thats all it was, a little too much trans fluid creating air in the lines and losing line pressure.
