You should run better than that without a cam and stall. 88mph is usually a car with good headers and a lid. Without a stall a 1.7 is possible, with around 400hp and a stall with radials it should cut 1.5-1.6 and run. 7.3-7.6@95-100mph. I have a nitrous stall, a cam about the size as yours but have ported 5.3 heads and the baby fast 90 and have never trapped less than 104 and 6.8x even with the stock 16's all the way around and at full weight. You need a good time e for mph and a good stall to 60ft and et, a nitrous stall should do better than that.

Something is wrong for sure, trapping like a car with headers only.

I would pull the front sway bar off or disconnect it at the track and swap to flashing the stall to get as much stall out of the convertor as possible , cams like higher stalls to immediately get up to the raised rpm's where aftermarket cams do their work- yours is very conservative for a cammed car especially on stock gears.

You're probably short shifting your cam and falling out of good power when it shifts. You need to bump it up to make better use of it. I'm running a stock cam and shift at 6200 with my auto and trap 113.5. It won't help your et much, but it will definitely help your mph.

OP your car is begging to breath I'd look into a 85 mm MAF, 3600-4000 stall with 3:73 gears with some sort of true duels and your car will be deep in the 11's .......or just spray the hell out of it.

You said the car dynoed 386rwhp. If you would, post up the graph. Who tuned the car after the cam install?

Gears isn't the problem and they aren't going to help much.

Nice! That tells us the story. Someone else guessed it, you're shifting shortly after peak power and that's killing you. You need to have the shift points closer to 6600rpm(if you don't want to spin it too hard). Also, I would recommend restalling to a 3600 or 3800 stall which ever FTI offers. It won't kill streetability, it will make it more fun lol I daily my yank ss3600 no problems. Just fixing those two things it will be much much better on the track and not hurt you on the street!

OP, check out FTI website. On the home page half way down with the bullet points it states within the first year you can get 1 free restall to adjust/change your converter for free so if it hasn't been a year since you bought it id get on that.

I went back out today with open cutout and the car improved in the 1/8th. I couldn't get 1/4 mile times because somebody took the sensors out 2 weeks ago. The car improved from 7.82 to 7.69. I have 243 heads waiting to be ported, maybe after Christmas. I also bought a Nitrous Outlet F body 78mm plate kit and Racetronicx fuel pump. That should wake her up. It might take me a little bit to get everything installed but I am not in a hurry, I am enjoying this little project.
