Default H/C/I 150 shot results

After dealing with the typical issues of racing a 6speed car for a couple seasons I decided it was time to swap in a th400. The car ran consistent 11.3x's at 124 with 1.6x 60ft times using the m6. I replaced the t56 with a FTI th400 and one of their custom converters. I had installed a used nitrous outlet plate kit right before I pulled the t56 but never made a pass on the spray.

-ls6 crate motor with hand ported heads, BTR 4 cam and FAST 102
-3540lb raceweight
-4.11's and 26in stiff wall slick
-150 shot
The first pass I let out at the 1/8 and made a personal best (left slip, right lane). I went on to run the full 1/4, spun on the hit then ran out of gear and had to let out multiple times due to being all over the limiter. Over all I am very happy with the new set up. The converter seems to be quite lazy on motor how ever. The DA was 20xx for these runs

Thanks, I need to get a 28in tire under it. Maybe that will let me squeak through the 1/4

I hear ya. I run a 26" drag radial and spin all of 2nd and sometimes a little of 3rd on the 150 hit lol

Great times for the first time out. That car has a 10.1-10.2 in it with the right gearing and a low 1.4 60ft. It should mph around 131-132 once dialed in. 28" tires might not be enough to get you through the quarter depending on converter slip (you might need to change to 3.70's with a 28").

BTW, what FTI converter are you running (size, model number)? Also, what is it stalling to N/A and on the bottle?

Thanks man, I had a feeling a gear change was ok my future. I am unsure of the model number on the converter. I will look at the paper work when I get home. I do know it's 9.5in and stalls to 4100 if I mat the gas and hold the transbrake. No clue on the spray. I need to work on getting some suspension, as I am all stock springs and shocks.

Thanks cyber. I will have to look back at the slips but I believe it was a 7.33 at 96.

Here is one of the motor passes I made. I let off at the 1/8.

Made two new personal best last night. The DA was much better and I am figuring out the new set up a bit more as well. I believe with some gears/tires and a few tweaks I will have a 9.9x street car

I would definitely step up to a 28" tire before changing the gears.

I will, I bought some used 28in pro bracket radials. I'm not sure it's going to be enough though

You definitely need 28" tires but I still think you may need to take some gear out of it even with them...that is a strong runner regardless.

Thanks bud. I'm sure I will eventually swap to a 3.73 and 28. I'm hesitant to throw the 28's on right now since I'm worried about sticking a radial with my mostly stock suspension.

Update... made a few upgrades and put on a used set of 28in pro bracket radials. The car left much harder than it ever has before. I would have loved to see what the 60ft was.
