Default WS6Store high lift ASA Track Results

Ok, if you've already seen my build and dyno threads, I finally got out to the track to find out what the new motor would do.

Quick recap:
SBE LS6 (from an '01 Z06), 243 heads milled .030, WS6Store highlift ASA cam (dyno'd 430hp/419tq)
Stock Throttle body and maf
LS6 intake
1 3/4 LTs w/ ORY through a cutout and magnaflow catback
Car has a stock M6 trans w/ an stock LS7 clutch through a MWC 9" w/ 4.11 gears
Running on MT 295/65/16 DRs at 18 PSI
Race weight = 3690lbs

The car is actually setup for Road Course duty, thus the LS7 clutch. As you would imagine the clutch also proves to be the weak link here, but hey, it protects the trans that way, right?

Any way my best run of the day was a 12.078 at 118.36 w/ a 1.78 60' (slip attached...right lane).

That was the only run I didn't feel a good bit of clutch slip shifting into each gear. Sadly, it's also the only run I didn't get video.

I've previously been able to get in the 1.6x range on these tires, but in every launch I either got tire spin or clutch slip, so no 11s for me, otherwise, I think 11.80s were very realistic. I'm very happy with the MPH though. Surprised me, I was thinking 116s at most.

Ls7 clutch is not for road course duty at all. Heavy clutches do not help you getting off corners. ....quite the opposite.

That thing is screaming for a fast or msd intake.

Good runs. Some tuning and practice should get you well into the 11s.

Oh, you're right about that, I was referring to the fact that I didn't need more holding power than the LS7 for road course duty...a light weight setup would certainly be better...except on my budget...thus the LS7. 😉

You have mid 11 mph easy. Look into a clutch tamer for 1/4 mile use
