Always take baby steps. Watch the AFR's and keep them in the mid 12's while you are learning. You really need to have your NA tune perfect so you can use It to make your NOS tunes. Take the NA tune and bring down timing as you add more Nitrous.
The no no is Too much timing and AFRs in the low 11's or high 13's. Never think a 50 hp shot of nitnous wont wreck you engine because it will if tune is off! You saw first hand what going from 50 to 75 did to your AFR. If you take the time now to learn, your engine will thank you in the long run!!
Hope this helps.

I actually added a bit of fuel to the tune for the 75 shot. My thinking was one wants to lower afr a bit as they step up the shot. But what I'm not sure on is at what point that becomes counter productive...

You guys are overthinking on reduced timing during shift. The shift is a Split second at the level of Nitrous being discussed would not matter. If you ran 7.19 NA your trans seems to be doing just fine. I ran plenty of nitrous passes with stock engine, stock trans and stock converter at 100 hp or less with full nitrous from start to finish line.
At that time the car was at 3,670 lbs and the stock trans held up fine. The trans was tuned to shift at 6,400 rpms 1-2 shift and 6,700 rpms 2-3 shift with higher line pressure but no other mods. The car ran NA in the 8.15s. That trans had 91k miles on It and worked just fine when I took It out. Keep the heat down inside trans and enjoy.
I watched a friend push his 4 speed built auto into the low 1.20's sixty foot times before major breakage. He did have alot of money in It and it had to be built/upgraded a few times.
Hope this helps! Good luck and have fun.

I tend to over think and over analyze lol. I even run timing reduction on the shifts when NA. given the 4l60e reputation I try to strike a balance between gains and reliability
