Default Finally RESULTS for LS3 swap Chevelle- NEW Update #3

11.54 at 117mph. Car really needs more gear or a shorter tire but I’m pretty happy for the mods it has in street trim.

Same pass as from the stands

Nickey stage 1. Driveability is great. No bucking at 1600rpm and pulls to 6800

That’s a beautiful and awesome 66 chevelle!! Good pass for street trim and I’m sure the weight of the car. Tell us more about your setup

Great results. This gives me hopes of being in the 10s with my ls3 cam only nova that weighs 2900 with me in it and 3.89 gears.

You running stock heads with no mods, stock pulleys, stock intake etc? Are those 18s? How well are they hookin?

Yes, all stock untouched heads and intake. 18’s that weigh 36lbs a piece. I’m running an lssimple alternator only setup. I’ve got dbl adjustable rear shocks and after a few passes the car hooks great. You should be 10’s pretty easily.

You don't need a cam to run 10s with a ls3 at that rw. Really solid bolts on at 2900lb rw will get you faster than 10.5. You should be looking for 9s cam only.

It's not that hard. We got my buddy's ls3 c6 m6 to run 10.5@132 on a 1.58 60' with bolt ons at 31xx rw. They're a nasty engine. We ain't done yet either. We're looking for 10.3s or so with a few changes. It's pretty amazing just how easy that was. We went 11.0@125.x with out headers even on it and the 60 left a little to be desired that day.

Chipping away at it!

i port and rod mod those ls3 intakes and tb's. Seems like it's typically worth nearly .2 when you do both. Shoot me a pm if your interested.

I didn’t let trans warm up on that pass and it layed over, actually felt the front end come down on the 2-3 shift. There’s no doubt I would’ve gone .3 or maybe even a .2. The only change I made was keeping the rear tires at 20lbs instead of 17. Picked up in the 60’ and mph.

im definitely interested in getting the rod mod this winter.

Rod Mod ? I think your in a sweet spot with those no wall tall tires. More power will get you a little but the tires will give it away real soon. Great Setup for street/strip. Congrats.

Rodmod is 2 rods you put in the intake at the point of entry on the short side of the intake runners. My customers typically see .15~ tenth on that and a port. Same mods and port work the was on my buddy's bolt on ls3 c6 that went 10.5@131
