Post Heads/cam swap-->Track results

Well, I posted some new personal best times at the track last night (as expected). I was hoping for slightly better, but I'm satisfied with the results.

My best pass of the night was a 12.35 sec. 1/4 mile @112.36 mph with a 1.79 60ft. I guess that's the best I can expect from a daily driveable LS1. At least it's not a 13 sec. car anymore.

This pass was during the RVA List Shootout at the Richmond Dragway. Mighty Mouse was in the right lane. Here's the video:

What's your build again? I think you've listed it in the past, but without seeing it listed it's hard to remember

What was the DA, and what did the car run before the H/C swap?

I never check the DA, but I'm sure it was good. It ran a consistent 13.0 with bolt-ons, but it went 12.88 once.

My first two runs this week were 12.4's. Then, I opened the exhaust cut-out, and got on the converter harder. The next two passes were a 12.38 and 12.35. At least this car is consistent. I wanted it to run low-mid 12's, and that's what it does.

also why did you go with the 317 heads and selling the 243s? are you planning on a power adder in the future? also 2.73 or 3.23 gears in that 10-bolt?

I only paid $200 for the 317 heads. They came with barely used BTR dual springs, and good valve seals. I figured the springs were worth what I paid for the heads, so I basically got the 317 heads for nothing.

By the time I got back with the 243 heads, the head-porting guy had already started porting the 317s. He was able to mill the chambers (cc) down to just below stock, so I just went with it. I originally wanted a Pro Charger, but I didn't think it would be very efficient as a daily driver. That's why I did the heads/cam instead. This heads/cam combo will still work with a blower, so I don't have to change out any parts if I decide to super charge it later on. I won't do that until this car is no longer my daily driver though.

The 10-bolt has the .323 gears. If I had gone with the blower, I would have swapped the 10-bolt out first. I wasn't willing to spend that much cash at one time. (heads/cam = $5,500, blower/axle= $13k) I figured the 10-bolt should survive behind the 4L80e with a heads/cam set-up. I know it won't with a super charger.
