Default Super Chevy Results

Well, it sure was nice to get back into the Hot Rod again. It has been 4 weeks since I have been racin. Football games on Saturday nights are killing my late season bracket racing.

We made a couple of changes to the Hot Rod. We changed to the fast intake and 90mm tb. The results are miss leading because we need to retune the car for the new fast stuff but anyway now for the results;

I went out to HRP on Saturday to make a couple passes so I would know what to dial her for the race on Sunday.

1st pass was a 10.665 @ 126.79 with a 1.489 60 ft.
2nd pass was a 10.660 @ 126.76 with a 1.504 60ft.
3rd and finals pass was a 10.649 @ 128.79(new mph best) with a 1.527 60ft.

Temp was 91.6, 93.4 and 95.2 on the 3 runs. My normal 60fts are 1.42 to 1.44. I guess it was hot and the track was very slippery.

Sunday morning the air was alot better. We didn't get any TT on Sunday. It was just dial her in and go. I dialed a 10.58. I drilled the other guy on three and let off the gas at the 1,000ft mark and costed to a 10.63 at 120.69mph. I ran the run in the computer to see what she would have run and it said 10.57 with a 9.

2nd round I dialed a 10.58. Got the other guy on the tree again. I ran her all the way out. She ran 10.63 @ 129.16(new mph best) with a bad 1.529 60ft.

3rd round I ran a 10.718 @ 126.81 cut a .012 light and let off the gas again at the mph marker.

4th round. I got lucky. The other guy missed his dial in bad. I ran a 10.733 @ 126.80 with a 1.518 60ft. on a 10.60 dial. On the return road, the car with idleing at 2500 rpms. Got back to the pits to check her out. Come to find out a vacum cap had split and air was sucking into the intake. So I bought a $2.00 bag of vacum caps and the problem was fixed.

Round 5. I was late on the tree with a .086 light to the other guys .045. I dialed a 10.59 and she ran a 10.659 @ 126.85 with a 1.497 60ft. I just couldn't catch him on the big end.

All in all it was a very fun weekend of racing. I made it down to 7 cars. I made $150.00 dollars and got a new mph best of 129.16(still need to back that up). Now, I need to get Thunder to do some tuning.

Thanks everyone.

I think that the Hot Rod will really fly when we get the tuning finshed up.

I also just figured out that I have 70 passes on my slicks and new motor. I have a new set of 30x9x15 Goodyear slicks just waiting to go on this week. It will be the 4th set this year.

nice job Coach!

Usually when you go through more than one set of slicks it means one of 2 things:

You make a lot of runs (bracket racing = good b/c of going rounds)

You're taner

Congrats Coach. After a 4 week lay off, you cut some awesome lights. Any idea why the 60's changed so much? Track prep? Doesn't look you were down on that much power.

It was really hot and I walked the starting line. It was pretty gooey. I also think that 70 passes on my slicks had something to do with it also. Set number 4(slicks) goes on for this weekend. I will be racing at Lone Star Raceway on Saturday and Angleton on Sunday to break the new slicks in for the Bracket finals Oct. 1-3 and Oct 8-10.

Derek,
yea, it's cool to have to change slicks alot during the season. I have been going alot of rounds this year.

Tanner,
Whats up brother?
