Default 98 TA A4 w/ F14 times :(

Well i ran it tonight and it was pretty disapponiting.
12.48@109.7 and 12.77@108.9 got 1.80 60fts on both runs w/ MT DRs@18psi
First run went from idle. 2nd run from 2500 and still got nearly identical 60fts
the car didnt shift at 6500 like its supposed to but kept going right up to 7k and pinged the limiter then would shift.
Somethings wrong here cuz this is what bolt on cars run and nearly 400rw should trap higher than 109mph. Any ideas?
Same thing happened to my 99 Z28 w/ F11 cam. Made 388rw and it would only turn mid 12s@109-110mph but never traced the cause before i totaled it.
Guess i need to scan it when i go back to FMS on thursday
On a side note my SES light had been on for a few days and it turned out to be the number 1 o2 sensor on bank 2 burnt up and was replaced before i went to the track tonight but about 45miles into my trip the SES light came on again. Dunno why but it stayed on while i was at the track during my 2 runs and then halfway home it went off
Was i in open loop mode the whole time at the track?

Need to Auto Tap your run and get your shift point fixed first and look for knock. Knock can come from parts touching the frame and will pull lots of timing.
Both of these will make a big difference. I tune my brothers car and we could not believe the difference the shift points made fixing any knock made.
Good luck and the time spent on dialing the rest of the tune will make all the difference.
Bother Slacker runs 11.8 cam only 227 and 3200 verter 10 bolt 342.
It all in the tune.

It was tuned by allan at FMS and he said he set the shift points at 6500. Would that have changed being that the tranny was rebuilt after? PCM reset somehow?
The exhaust beats around the car a good bit, could that cause knock or maybe a bad knock sensor?

I have a lot of respect for Alan and his tuning ability, can’t get much better!
But, you still need to log the run to make sure the car is shifting where you want it.
All kind of think can very your shift points (HP/TQ, shift kits, converter, ect.)
I would think you would want it to shift between 6800 to 6900.
What we did with my brother car was set the Rev. at 6900 and adjust shift point by MPH until we got the desired shift RPM.
His car is flying and one of the most consistent f-body cars at the track.
If the exhaust or any part of your car is touching it will just kill your ET from the loss of timing. Jack car and look over the car, make sure you have enough clearance between all parts. Bang on your ex. and listen for metal noise.
Good luck your car should run 11.5 on motor easy.

thanks man. I dont doubt Allan tuning ability one bit.
JNorris is gonna let me use his efilive scanner this friday but i guess Allan could do it as well when i go down to FMS thursday and also put the car on the lift and check the exhaust.
I cant really do anything myself cuz my back is still broken from my car accident back in oct 04 so im not supposed to lift moderate-heavy things, bend over, jump, run, etc etc according to the doc. i have to drive w/ a back brace but used to have to wear a full brace for 4-5months. Find out soon if surgery can fix my 12th vertabre which was compressed and cracked in the accident cuz i flew off the road into a 20ft drop, then ran over a bunch of small trees. i went into a sweeping turn on some 3.5in skinnes a lil to fast like a dumbass and the left front rim broke in half which sent me off the road

you are in open loop and your tune is wayyy off, you are probably off about 50 hp easy. Your car should hit around 115 mph-117mph.

this troubles me big time.. i have the f14 with a 3000 stall and 3.23's at the moment.. UNTUNED.. it went a 1/8th mile time of 8.03.. didn't really spin down low, fell on its face off the line with no tune lol almost cut off, but it did spin in the higher rpms' or first and second a good bit, i almost hit the wall but stayed in it.

i was expecting the gear, and the tune to put me somewhere in the 7.50's 1/8th mile with tires ofcourse...
