Default stock 1/8th mile times?

In an auto 98 Z-28 with 3.23 gears, SLP lid, powershot filter, no cats and GMMG cat-back exhaust, what times should it run in the 1/8th? I've never ran it but will tonight, just wanted to see what you guys think and have had experience with. It's a very strong car too, thanks

My guess is mid to high 8's at 83-84 mph.

Depends on a lot of things.

"Normally" I would say mid-high 8's, with the couple of bolt-ons you have maybe more like solid mid 8's. But in this weather this time of year I would expect high 8's at best prolly.

Look at your MPH after your first run, that'll give you an idea of your cars capabilty.

If you're trapping 83-84MPH, your car's "capable" of at least mid 8's.

Get there as early as you can, give your car ample time to cool off, and work on your 60's...

Good Luck, Jon

My best stock 1/8-mile time was 8.744 at 83.06 mph with a 2.03 60 foot on the stock goodyears. With current stuff I see mid 8's at about 84 mph during the summer.

Good luck!

My first trip to the track my car ran 8.8@81.88 on GSCs with a 2.0 60ft. My car at the time had zero mods and I didn't even lower the tire pressure. I usually run in the 8.3 to 8.4 range at 86 mph with my few mods.

That’s not even stock lt1 speeds... and a hella fast GT mustang

8.8 @ 81 “a4 3.23” for me and a few friends of mine have ran 8.9's 8.8's

I had a few high 8.7's with 2.0 60's on street tires. You might see a “a4 2.73’s” car run 9.0's

8.40 @ 85 with a 2.0 60' on the stock goodyears. usually ran around 8.6. took a lot of practice though. a lot of my friends with stock a4 cars are running high 8s anywhere from 79-83.

Oh my another 98 hater... don’t hate what you don’t understand...

Ok we are talking stock auto car... what you must have seen is a fool with an m6... a stock m6 can easily go 8.50's or lower I have seen it bla bla...

My mothers 02 ss ran 8.7 bone stock... and thats slow for a 02 2.1 60's hot idle

A friend of mine ran a high 9.1 in an lt1 with a flowmaster and intake “a4 2.73’s”

See my sig for my current times... believe it or not... no tune or any other work that’s not listed in the sig and it has more time left in it.

Well, I have a 98 Z28 and don't have headers or gears like your car has and I bet if I put on your ET streets I will run atleast 8.0's or maybe faster. Just because you saw one slow 98 does not mean all are slow. From the factory the 01 and 02's only dyno maybe 10 more horsepower than the other years.
