700 rwhp supra at the track.....
this car is supposivly the 4th most powerful supra in the nation. i know hes running a T88 turbo 5" downpipe. the car is a 6 speed and i heard it weighs 3800-3900.
1st & best pass on 315s he ran a 13.04@129. 97mph in the 1/8. talk about lag....OMG! its honestly..3-4 seconds before the turbos spools. the people he's friends with, told me he makes 250rwhp at 5000 and makes 1046rwhp at around 8000. that is on race gas. it was nice and cool out. about 60 degrees when he was racing.

This is again a reason why dyno #s don't mean anything unless you can apply the power the entire way down the track. 129 mph totally hooked up is mid to low 10s, not impressive for 1000+ rwhp IMHO.

All he needs is a stout auto with a 'brake, and it would be a completely different animal. With that kind of power, assuming he could hook it up, I would think 9s would be all the rage launching with boost off the 'brake.

there was a guy there with a nice looking SS running 13.0@109 and definately had a cam in it. i started talking to him and found out it was a custom CNC grind plus he had ported heads and those awesome slp headers . im thinking " he has h/c...and hes running low 13s @109....something is definatley messed up!! he told me hes making " 6 & a 1/4 horsepower "...yea right! he also had a custom tune.

Put a T400 conversion in that car with a good sized stall and it will go mid 9's first time out, if it makes that kind of power. Could go a lot faster than that.
But I saw a stick Supra a few years ago going like 12.6@135... hard to launch.

So, how did you know he was making that much power at the track?
A T88H is an OLD school modified Mitsubishi semi truck turbo, very laggy and a shitty power band, but great top end, easily enough for high 130's to low 140's at full weight. Just because somebodys friends, Uncles, buddys, Father said that he saw it dyno 1046 rwhp doesn't make it true.
A T88H will ONLY support 950 rwhp MAX, and 1046 rwhp is no where near the top four Supra's in RWHP.
How do you know he even ran over his base boost? He could have had his boost turned all the way down and was trying to do a couple of shake down runs.
I trapped 96 mph in the 1/8th with my boost turned all the way down on a little 67 mm turbo, stock fuel, and stock side mount intercooler several years ago.
You can trap 129mph with only a 61 mm turbo in a well set up Supra. Heck he could have been on the stock fuel system or stock cams.
That should not represent the average built Supra, just like I don't compare the local heads, cam, Paxton SC, nitrous, big stall LT1 Camaro that runs 14's @ 120mph to all LT1's and LS1's.
Think about it...

I saw a Supra TT that was insane at Speedway. The car didn't even hold 1st gear for more then a second. It was that quick outta the hole, and the dude was hitting the rev limter like crazy. Even on slicks the car was barking in every gear. It ran a high 10 sec. pass at 138 mph. Not slow in my opinion. They can be tuned properly to run the 1/4 mile, but sounds like the dude was more inclined for high numbers. Not all supras have weak low end. They had a magazine article on one that was making 800 whp at 4500 rpms, and had that power pretty much all throughout the rpm band. He didn't have the highest number, but his graph was sick.
