What's wrong with these numbers? I have a Beltronics Vector FX1 accelrometer that I use as my drag strip, so to speak. I've used it a couple times before and everything seemed rather normal. All the numbers I got seemed reasonable. The first runs I did had no rollout (I think), on street tires, on a crappy road, with no burnout. The fastest I could muster was a 14.23 @ ~103 mph, with a ~2.20 60 ft. Today I took it out again, to see how I did. These had a 12 inch rollout. Here are the results: 1/4: 13.70 @ 108.9 1/8: 9.12 @ 83.5 60 ft: 2.42 330 ft: 6.15 1000 ft: 11.62 0-10: .6 0-20: 1.55 0-30: 2.4 0-40: 3.2 0-50: 4.45 0-60: 5.5 0-70: 6.63 0-80: 8.32 0-90: 9.9 0-100: 11.75 What happened? It seems like there was too big of a change in time with absolutely nothing changed on the motor between these two runs. Even the temperature outside was similar. No burnout, street tires, same crappy road. The only difference was that on this run the asr was turned off. To me it seems strange for me to trap at 108.9 with a near stock car (I bought it used: from what I can tell, it only has a lid, filter, and a flowmaster muffler) this time, but only be able to muster 103 the last times. Any ideas as to what happened? |
